Rove: Attorney scandal ‘a lot of politics.’

Karl Rove was asked about the U.S. Attorney purge during an event today in Troy, AL. There was no talk of “mistakes” made or actions not “handle properly,” a phrase White House Press Secretary Tony Snow used today.

Instead, Rove repeated the false ‘Clinton did it too’ line several times, and concluded: “This to my mind is a lot of politics, and I understand that’s what Congress has the right to play around with, and they’re gonna do it.” Watch it at link:

2. well, if he wants to talk about it, he wouldn't fight a subpeona, right?
I say if he wants to comment on how political it is, he should do so under oath in front of Leahy. Otherwise, he should STFU, since he's a suspect.

3. Clinton did it too? Fair enough. Wasnt Clinton a "crook" and "serial liar" as well?
At least according to Rove/media conventional wisdom?

Not the best role model in the world, according to your own standards, is it?

Cant have it both ways KKKarl- Clinton cant be your whipping boy and your role model.

6. And was it politics when Clinton was impeached Karl?
Or was it a high crime and misdeanor?

And if you were lying then, what makes you tell the truth now? Only a supeona and the threat of jail.

Welcome to the beginning of the end of Karl Rove.

9. What really really really pisses me off is how the brain dead can repeat talking points, half truth
and down right lies about the democratic party or liberals. Yet when you put out facts or show coruption in the party of dick heads, your bashing GW and the republicans which isn't fair. I have never seen people that have escaped responsibility for themselves then in the same breathe they rant about poor being lazy and not willing to do whatever it takes to get a good job like theirs. Sure makes one want to burn down businesses and kill all business persons when they get on their holier then you bull shit. I am so sick of republijerks that say that their fortune isn't luck, they make their own luck. They remind me of Scrooge in a christmas carol.

Bush removal ended Guam investigation
US attorney's demotion halted probe of lobbyist
By Walter F. Roche Jr., Los Angeles Times | August 8, 2005

WASHINGTON -- A US grand jury in Guam opened an investigation of controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff more than two years ago, but President Bush removed the supervising federal prosecutor, and the probe ended soon after. . . .

A day later, the chief prosecutor, US Attorney Frederick A. Black, who had launched the investigation, was demoted. A White House news release announced that Bush was replacing Black.

The timing caught some by surprise. Despite his officially temporary status as the acting US attorney, Black had held the assignment for more than a decade. . . .

His replacement, Leonardo Rapadas, was confirmed in May 2003 without any debate. Rapadas had been recommended for the job by the Guam Republican Party. Fred Radewagen, a lobbyist who had been under contract to the Gutierrez administration, said he carried that recommendation to top Bush aide Karl Rove in early 2003.
