Another round for Fmr. Sen. Macacawitz...?
The Moonie Times announces he may be looking to slither out from under his rock if Warner retires.

Allen angles

Inside the Beltway has learned that former Sen. George Allen, Virginia Republican, will host a private dinner in Old Town Alexandria in the coming days to discuss whether to seek the Senate seat now held by senior Republican Sen. John W. Warner, if the five-term incumbent were to step down in 2008.

Mr. Allen lost his seat in November to Democrat James H. Webb Jr. Speculation of late also had Mr. Allen considering a run for Virginia governor in 2009, a post he also previously held.

3. Unlikely when the GOP's got other options...
like Tom Davis and Jim Gilmore. Both of them make me queasy, but both are probably more acceptable to voters than Allen.

And if we get Mark Warner in the race, I think he can school any of these three.

4. I don't think anyone expected him to fade into the woodwork after defeat!
I suspect it depends on who runs for those 2 seats in 08, which one CACA will pick. I'm sure he's trying to figure out a way to run for BOTH! IF we can find a Webb clone to run to replace Warner, I'd guess CAC will choose to run for Gov. HEY HOWARD!!!!! We need to search for TWO good candidates to run in Va. Please help us here!!!!!

5. Let's hope he's as successful this time around..
as Ollie North was when he ran for Senate.
