How many people that use FOX as their ONLY news source will vote Democratic?
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 08:48 PM by Hippo_Tron
I'm sure that there are many FOX viewers who are independents and perhaps some Democrats and moderate Republicans that we may be able to appeal to in 2008. But the fact is that these people must have some other news source besides Fox by which we can reach them.

FOX is GOP propaganda pure and simple. If it is your ONLY news source, I don't see how you could possibly vote Democratic since you are being fed only GOP propaganda 24/7 with no other news sources.

The Democrats don't need Fox News to get their message out to the portion of Fox News' audience that might possibly vote for them. That portion of Fox News' audience views/watches/listens to some other form of media and the Democrats would be better off sending their message through that media than having it spun by the GOP propaganda machine.

As for those who view exclusively FOX or view FOX, read the NY Post, and Rush Limbaugh as their news sources, they will not be voting Democratic. If you don't believe me, go over to FreeRepublic and see what people who are exposed to only right wing media are like. They are not worth trying to appeal to and they only comprise about 25-27% of the electorate that is the Republican "base".

3. I saw a claim somewhere that..
The claim was that there are more independent and Democrat veiwers of Fox than there are Republican viewers.

I'd say getting your views out wherever you can is prudent and Fox has a large audience.

Either way, I doubt anyone is getting their information from Fox solely.

10. That's from the 2004 Pew Report
52% of the Fox viewing audience described themselves as conservative, which meant 48% did not describe themselves as conservative. Is an audience almost half comprised of not-conservatives worth the time of Democrats? Republicans were 35%; Democrats 21%; 44% independents. The study doesn't say how much of the 35% professed Republicans were moderate Republicans, the kind of Republicans fed up with what's become of their party, but surely the 65% who are either Democrats or independents are worth talking to. You know, take a shot, why the hell not?

4. If it's Fox, it's ONLY Fox...
Seriously... how long would you watch Fox AND other sources? It only takes one other source to illuminate what an absurd excuse for news Fox is. So I'd bet that if you watch Fox, you watch ONLY Fox.

6. Some people believe (incorrectly I should add) that FOX gives them balance
They think if they read the New York Times for liberal opinions and watch FOX News for conservative ones, that they will have a good exposure to all sides.

13. I sure don't know any of 'em...
Of course, I know very few people who watch Fox for anything other than entertainment. But the few people I know who take Fox seriously watch it exclusively. Rather scary, if you ask me.

But then, that would be the good news.

7. I actually know a guy
who watches only Fox News and he always votes Democratic. The guy is an avid reader of anything political and hates Chimpy with a passion. I have asked him why he would watch this garbage and he says he needs to know what the morons are thinking.

9. You can watch Faux and vote Dem
I used to watch Faux all the time(I used to be a fan of hannity/colmes)and they never change my mind regarding my views and the democratic party. I think the main thing is, "do you buy everything Faux says?" because i you watch Faux and believes everything that comes out of Hannity and O'reilly's mouth then there's a good chance that by the end of the month you'll most likely to vote Repuke. But if your like me and watch Faux and make your opinion when you hear both sides of what there talking about there's a good chance your a smart voter and vote Dem.

Does everyone understood what I said?

11. I don't actually watch it
But I don't like demonizing people who do. Aside from the right wingnut segment of the viewing audience, the rest are just ordinary working Americans. They read the Daily News instead of the New York Times, so what? According to DU, they should be shot or something. It's very fucked up, in my opinion.

15. This should be a poll question with only two possible answers: None and Less Than One.

I don't think anyone actually uses Fox as their "only" news source. Most Fox viewers are also addicted to Rush Limbaugh and/or his local imitators.
