1. Why should I be honoring these people?
Because they believe in cutting off funds and putting soldiers like my best friend Kris in harms way, sending them into battle without body armor and such.

I won't be doing that thank you.

2. Because they'll stand up to loaded language resolutions
and cut the funds for Bush's war, which would bring our troops home.

3. I'm sorry, but I have to support this resolution
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 01:36 AM by Rusty MacHenry
I want to bring the troops home and end this war, but by a resonable plan, I can't support cutting off funding, i'm sorry.

4. Welcome to DU. Are you lost?
Our soldiers were sent into Iraq without body armor while being fully and outrageously well-funded. They won't have less body armor because of the cutoff. It would be hard to have less.

Cutting off the funds that are racing into the pockets of Halliburton (and certainly not into armored trucks that can withstand the roadside bombs) will save lives, heads, legs, arms.

But you'd rather see your friend on his fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh rotation playing Russian roulette with his life? That's friendship to you? Will you visit him every day in the hospital? Or the cemetery?

I'm sure you will.

5. Nah, I Agree With Him
Only way people like him will learn is if the army is completely broken and we have utterly failed in Eye-Rack, so let them have their goddamn war, I'm tired of holding their hand over this.

7. First off, don't talk to me like you know my friend
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 02:08 AM by Rusty MacHenry
Cause you don't, it it was up to my buddy Kris (who is in Iraq as a SEAL) would want to stay there forever tll the job was done, till every terrorist was killed, till all the sectarian violence stopped. he is very supportive of this war and comes from a military family (his brother served in Iraq before him, his father served in vietnam). So don't talk to me like you know what my friend wants and not wants. My opinion stands on the matter and quite frankly I don't give a darn if you like it or not, because I have deep convictions on this matter and no one can chsnge it.

Stop thinking i'm some kind of a idiot just because you don't like what I have to say, i'm just as smart and knowledgeable as you.

6. Bob Corker is on that list
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 02:06 AM by Hippo_Tron
Because he claims that non-binding resolutions are meaningless. He's also challenging the Democrats to actually cut off funding for the war.

I agree with Bob Corker that the non-binding resolutions are a waste of time, especially since they haven't moved us any closer to a bipartisan solution if the GOP won't quickly approve them. The problem is that cutting off funding won't work either. Chimpy will just find a way to fund it even if Congress doesn't let him. Remember, the one thing he does best is break the law.
