Some predictions
Gonzo is outta there within 6 weeks (today is March 16), conceivably a lot sooner.

A horror is nominated as his replacement, but one without a track record,
and gets confirmed with way too little grumbling and investigation.

Rove gets away with it yet again.

A VERY few Republican senators discover that there is no puppeteer pulling
their strings after all, and they are allowed to show tiny bursts of the courage to
speak their minds, especially if they happen to be up for re-election in 2008 in
states known not to harbor well-UNregulated right-wing militias.

There is nothing Hillary can say that will please anyone. If she finds a cure for
cancer, the right will accuse her of a politically timed announcement, and the left
will accuse her of being in bed with the pharmaceutical company that will make the
medication.

Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy pray to whatever God they think is
listening every night asking for forgiveness for December 12, 2000, but none is
forthcoming (wtf did you expect? Chávez was wrong. It wasn't the devil that spoke
to the UN the day before he did. The Devil had already done his work by putting
Bush in the White House in the first place).

The extremist American right wing will slowly come to the realization that even THEY
would have been better off whining about a Gore administration for the last 6 years
instead of praising the incompetence and corruption of the Bush Lite Administration.

Of course, I have been wrong before............a lot!! LOL

2. Actually I think Rove is gone also. I don't think he survives this. He is up to his little piggy
eyes in this, so if Gonzo is gone over this it is hard to see how Karl survives. Besides, I am not convinced that Karl is out of the woods yet on the Libby/Plame scandal. When Libby is staring at a jail term with only the implied promise of a pardon at the end of Bush's term, his faulty memory may suddenly get a lot better.

3. I missed your reply earlier, sorry
Rove has shown himself to have more lives than a geriatric cat.

Besides the fact that Bush needs him to find the hot and cold
water knobs in the bathroom, I don't think that the skeletons
whose location he knows will allow anyone to force him out unless
there is a real break in the dam, in which case they all drown,
in which case it's president Pelosi. The Republicans would
nuke Washington before they would let that happen.
