Moran!

I think he also thinks they should wear little lapel pins that say Shhh!

Maybe car stickers that say Covert Agent on Board

There just has to be some way that Bushco can be warned who not to out.

1. Jim Moran is number 8???? Baaastid, figures he'd out a DEMOCRAT!

That guy could be in trouble next time around. Not a small amount of his constituency has governmental responsibility in the career civil service sector. His condescending questioning did not resonate with that sector, I would wager.

2. But it was common knowledge in the House Floor cocktail circuit.
I hear he has a desk job, too.

3. Yeah everyone in the cloakroom knew!!! And you could hear that gossip
around the urinals in the men's room off the rotunda, as well!

It shouldn't substantially affect his pay, should it??? What's he whining about?

8. Unfortunately, he seems to have the classic incumbent advantage
He is well liked (partly because he "takes care of" his constituents) even though Fairfax has been blue a long time and is getting bluer.

However, a lot of people thought Jim Webb had no chance against Felix Jr. (though Davis is not nearly as empty headed as Felix). So with a strong Democratic opponent, maybe Davis's seat isn't so "safe..."

9. I always had a feeling that Webb could beat Macacawitz, and I think Davis can be moved with a good
candidate, a few good bread-and-butter issues, and a bit of passionate campaigning. He's too entrenched, he's too 'fat and florid' frankly, and he's totally lost his edge.

Frankly, I'd love it if someone sharp and savvy mounted a challenge. Hell, I'd fly down to help that campaign!!

11. I hope you are right! I think Webb gave hope to
Democrats in Virginia, even though Davis' opponent this year was disappointing. However, in the next election they may have a better sense of how to beat Davis, especially given his stupid comments during the Plame hearing, which may fire up the opposition.

13. Yeah, that public BushCo blowjob will be the gift that keeps on giving.
And so long as he sits a few seats down from Henry Waxman, the odds are excellent that we'll have a few more moments like that on tape for the next election, because I don't think our brave, bald chairman is gonna be resting on any laurels any time soon--I think that Committee is gonna be busy, and it looks like Davis drew the short straw, and is forced to play a role as the BushCo softball pitcher and interference runner.

I like to study body language, and I noted that the florid fucker looked, well, UNCOMFORTABLE. He looked like he was either constipated, hemorrhoidal, or straining at his stool during the entire questioning; as though he had his marching orders, and they'd kill his dog if he didn't carry out his orders. He personified the term "Unhappy Camper."

I really do think Davis could be shifted out of there--the trick, as ALWAYS, is the RIGHT candidate. They've gotta be Dean-like in going after that guy, and get a goodie with charisma, work like hell, GOTV, bring in a few "power endorsers," and fight for every damned vote. But I think it is do-able.

5. Davis should be careful
He's a northern Virginia representative. I bet there are a lot of covert CIA employees in his district that take Plame's outing very seriously and would be happy to back any future political opponents of Davis...

6. He really seemed quite foolish right from the get-go.
It is getting harder and harder to be a Republican apologist.

10. McMansions and the suburban idiots run deep in parts of VA-11
I used to live up there in Fairfax and it's probably those "soccer moms and NASCAR dads" keeping this fool in office. Come on VA Dem party, start fielding new blood to kick Davis out!

12. This (old) article suggests that Davis might run for Senate
if John Warner retires. I suppose the Rethugs are waiting to see how much more * screws stuff up over the next couple of years, and will then test the waters.

7. Maybe their personnel files can all be stamped "Top Sekrit, no peeking!"
Or maybe Sam's Club can have specials that only apply to NOCS who show up 1/2 hour before the store opens.
