Ron Brownstein says Dems pandering to the "far left 'activists..warns Dems
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 04:46 PM by madfloridian
not to push the investigations on Plame too hard. This far left Dems stuff is getting on my last nerve. Matt Cooper sounded more sensible....David Gregory disappointed me.

This is about a president taking the country to war based on lies and then trying to discredit those who spoke out.

Et tu LA Times and Brownstein?

David Gregory sounds too wishy washy. On Hardball just now. Thought Gregory might be safe to watch, but he disappointed.

3. Oh, ferkrissakes! These are the people who think Jimmy Carter
was and is a closet Communist!

When are our elected Democrats going to stop being so afraid what these lunatics say and begin to act on our core values.

Enough!

7. When 60% of the country is out in front of Congress
Catching up is hardly "pandering." It's called protecting your job, because if the Democrats don't do it, and don't follow through on their oversight responsibilities, we the people might just have to do it, and we may not be in the mood by that point to call people "the distinguished gentleman" or "my honorable colleague." If you get my drift.

8. Yeah 'cause like this is so far left.
They lied us into a bad war and destroyed the lives of anyone who got in their way. Indeed: we all must be wild eyed bomb throwing anarchits to think that this is a crime and that those responsible ought to be charged and tried.

I think they are warning us that they are not going to tolerate our bad behavior for much longer.

9. I didn't used to be a 'leftist'
Until the Dems started dragging themselves so far to the right.

PROUD TO BE FAR LEFT!!! Even though I have voted and held the same beliefs for most of my nearly 50 years on this earth. Now I am rethinking this 'party' thing but not gonna abandon Dean's stellar efforts as Chair.

Gregory was a disappointment in our house as well.

12. In checking around,
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 08:01 PM by OHdem10
Brownstein also implied the "Blogs" are getting too
powerful. O'Reilly has been on this kick--talking
about the the influence of the Blogs and their
"control of Democrats".

Do not be surprised if you see an effort made by
TV Media to marginalize Blogs. The drumbeat is starting.
This is the way they have permitted the Republicans
to appear to win. It all goes back to the 60s.
Democratic Activists are to sit down and shutup
but Republican Activists are bowed to.

They will do this by being critical of Democrats
in Congress. The Dems on Capital Hill naturally
will wilt--they fear the Media and cannot stand
the idea a bad story might be written.

"Where Credit Is Due
Posted by Jay Carney

"Twelve days ago, after David Iglesias went public, I said that if there turned out to be a broad conspiracy behind the firing of the U.S. Attorneys, "I will take my hat off to Marshall and others in the blogosphere and congratulate them for having been right in their suspicions about this story from the beginning."

My hat is off. Josh Marshall at TalkingPointsMemo and everyone else out there whose instincts told them there was something deeply wrong and even sinister about the firings, and who dug around and kept writing about them while Iglesias decided whether to talk to the press or go quietly on to his next job, deserve tremendous credit.

When this story first surfaced, I thought the Bush White House and Justice Department were guilty of poorly executed acts of crass political patronage. I called some Democrats on the Hill; they were "concerned", but this was not a priority. The blogosphere was the engine on this story, pulling the Hill and the MSM along. As the document dump proves, what happened was much worse than I'd first thought. I was wrong. Very nice work, and thanks for holding my feet to the fire.
"I am... for freedom of the press, and against all violations of the Constitution to silence by force and not by reason the complaints or criticisms, just or unjust, of our citizens against the conduct of their agents." --Thomas Jefferson"

14. ron brownstein has never wrote an
intelligent sentence in his career as far as I've read.

So, he's not even worthy.

Too bad about david gregory. How weird that matt cooper is now sounding "sensible"?
