GOP's worst nightmare has come true!
If an informed public is their worst enemy. The laptop computer is their worst nightmare.
A devie that can instantly put the lie to their talking points. More acolades for TPM.

This clip from LA times
a powerful new force that was not available to reporters until blogging came along: the ability to communicate almost instantaneously with readers via the Internet and to deputize those readers as editorial researchers, in effect multiplying the reporting power by an order of magnitude."

1. In another time, the NeoCons would be untouchable.
Their "rah-rah" patriotism would have carried the day. Sooner or later, a few of those FReepers are going to figure out that they've been played. Maybe they have already, but their pride is so big they can't admit it.

6. Yep, I was just thinking about this last night.
Many of us wouldn't have known Scott Ritters name were it not for the "Internets."

2. The 'Great Wurlitzer' had been in control for generations
able to manipulate perception at will and herd the masses in whatever direction was deemed appropriate by the 'Wise Men.'

3. We need to continue bringing the mainstream
away from their television sets and into more interactive (and objective) media...

8. Yes, and his name is Waxman
Elected (and unelected) leaders are much better situated to hold the powerful to account than people who have a broadband connection. Folks were able to stop the Vietnam War without the Internet, but look how long it took them! Compare that to how long it took to get rid of Nixon with Watergate.

We can work at the grassroots for change--and I'm not saying we shouldn't--but change happens much more slowly unless you have someone like a Henry Waxman in a position to make a difference.

9. No. Their worst nightmare will be losing all their power, money and status.
So far that has not happened.
