CNN This A.M Reporting On The Waxman/Plame Hearings Said.....
that the Dems are doing this to put a name and face to the outing to show the American people that a real somebody - Valerie Plame - was harmed by this. That it is more than just politics.

Seems to me that the bigger story should be what happened as a result of her outing:

- that an important intelligence gathering tool for the U.S. with respect to WMD was ended/destroyed
- that this outing exposed Brewster Jennings (BJ) a cover organization and spy operation that took years to set in position - it was of utmost importance to U.S. intelligence gathering and now it's gone
- that all those people that worked for Brewster Jennings (BJ) - this cover organization - where also exposed and put in harms way - some may have even been killed as a result
- that exposing Plame was actually a 'shot across the bow' of any other intelligence officer or government worker - that disloyalty will not be tolerated by *Co and they will stop at nothing to put an end to leaks, etc; intimidation by *Co personified

So Valerie Plame is a symbol for all of these reasons. But Valerie Plame is just one spoke of this scandal and the resultant treasonous actions by *Co.

An Aside: If this scandal results in an impeachment or a bringing down of *Co - that will be two administrations in a row that were effected by the exposure of a BJ.

2. They also forgot
that the WH has now admitted that they never investigated the leak.

4. There is barely a mention of the non-investigation
the Bush said would happen in the different news stories. You always have to figure out what they AREN'T reporting. I missed the hearing. I hope Cspan re-airs it this weekend.

3. some may have even been killed as a result?
Although because of the way the CIA has to operate we will
never know it seems highly likely that many people were killed
as a result of this outing.

Say you are the head of the secret police in "Trashkanistan" and
you notice that a scientist who had been going to Brewster
Jennings to talk about what you thought were "oil futures"
was really getting paid by the CIA to get info on nuclear
materials in your country, how quickly do you think he would
be dead and or tortured?

How many of that front company's "contacts and agents" got killed
because of Dick Cheney outing of Plame will never be known but
I am sure that many were.
