Company, union, silent on meeting
Friday, March 16, 2007

This week, a union official said The Hershey Co. wanted to meet yesterday and today to talk about the company's restructuring plan and how it would affect plants at 19 E. Chocolate Ave. and West Hershey.

Both factories are unionized, and the company has not said how local workers will be affected by the plan that calls for cutting about 3,000 jobs overall.

Calls to Dennis Bomberger, business manager for Chocolate Workers Local 464, were not returned.

Company officials at the headquarters and at a meeting held at the Hershey Country Club yesterday would not discuss the status of the talks.

2. Herchez Besos.
Hershey is as American as apple pie. But..................

Name change is in the works because scum bag multi-nationalist, USA last, Mexico or China first, greed incentivized CEOs want the name to be something that could be used just as easily in Tijuana or China.

How about Herchez Besos?

That should make ex-Hershey employees feel better as they apply for a job at Wal-Mart.
