Do you consider "yes or no" questions simplistic and boring?
Especially when the subject is complex sociological or political phenomena?

Do you yearn for a simpler world where everything is clear and bright and there are no shadows?

nuanced. If we had complete information about issues I don't think I would be much more concrete, but especially given the partial information and spin available to us I really cant be black or white. I think mob behavior and groupthink is a way people compensate for a lack of cetainty about the merits of issues.

6. That consideration changes every day.
It depends on the question or the mood I'm in.

9. Thank you all for your thoughtful responses.
I am envisioning a poll where you get to choose an answer, either "yes" or "no", but there won't even be a question. But I just can't seem to get motivated to do it.

Cocktail time! Beers for everybody! :toast:

10. There are times for essay answers and times for T/F
What drives me nuts is the oversimplifaction of complex issues, or people who ignore significant portions to concentrate on just one part. If it were easy, it would not be an issue.

An inflamatory example is Monica Lewinsky kerfluffle. There were key elements of that which made it not private behavior. Pointing it out here will get you head chopped off (BTDT). Telling a repuke it was not an impeachable offense will result in the same separation of ones head and neck (BTDT2).

Lets not hijack the thread over my example. If you have an issue with it, take it to private messages.

11. Yes. No wait,, no. No,,, yes. No - no. I mean yes no.
After thinking about this for a bit, I realize that binary systems can be quite complex.

14. I don't mind yes or no...
as long as I understand how someone got there. I find myself being very intolerant of mimicked phrases presented as one's own reasoning. I recognize it..as in, I too once spouted anything but what "I" thought, but having found my way to me, am very sensitive to bullshit. I think there are certain buzz words, that act as a repellent to my even contemplating a persons views. It's really kind of rude, but I don't know how to handle it politely..yet.
