Brent Wilkes Fetes Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA)
11-14-2003
Updated: 03-02-2006

On November 14, 2003, Brent Wilkes, founder of ADCS and briber of Duke Cunningham, hosted a fundraiser for Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA). Doolittle came through for Wilkes, delivering $37M in earmarks over three years to another of his companies, PerfectWave, Inc. The military never asked for the funding.

----------------------

I think this was what Carol Lam was going after...this type of corruption. And PerfectWave? I think it might have been a PerfectScam...no evidence that they really made anything. Talking Points Memo has a great database and reference material on the entire Cunningham-Wilkes-Wade corruption case. This will take center stage in the US A firing scandal....it'll be a biggie!

1. Kick
Another thought on this....I think this is how Organized Crime, masquerading as the Republican Party, did their fundraising-

(1) Set up dummy/virtual companies
(2) Award no-bid contracts (primarily military contracts)....think Appropriations Committee.
(3) Split the proceeds a) Some goes to the Republican Congressman (like Cunningham) b) some goes to the Republican-Businessperson c) The rest gets laundried/recycled into their re-election campaigns (via very expensive dinners).

Rinse and repeat....

This is why I think Lam represents the mother of all Republican scandals.

4. How would Lieberman or Ellison be able to attend these functions?
As someone allergic to pork, I always wonder how Jews and Muslims attend these events.

I know, I know - silly point. But I just saw the bacon-wrapped filet and wondered. :)
