Expel Lieberman!
With the recent talk that Lieberman won't rule out a switch to the GOP, why don't we simply have him expelled.

True, the Repug governor will appoint a Repug to take his place, but at least then we can have an election in 2008 for the seat. If we don't expel him, we'll have Joe until 2012.

(Of course, if he does run again in 2008 after expulsion, we'll have to make sure he doesn't steal the election like he did in 2006).

1. Please don't.
That would be foolish.

2. Expell him from what? He is an independent who is aligning with the Dems

If we tell him to align with the repugs than who will set the agenda in the Senate

Let's be honest, the Senate is too close to matter anyway, as far as it comes to the issues we care about. That WILL change in 2008.

Right now Leahy(sic), and others can compel officials to testify before the Senate, if for nothing else than for history and the record. We say to Lieberman to align with the republicans, How will that help us?

In 2008, we it won't matter, right now it does

3. You mean from the Senate, not the Party?
You think it would be the right thing for the Democrats to expel an elected Senator because they don't like him?
