would you rather (all things being equal) vote for someone who has no familial relation to a previous President?

For me, it's the latter. Seems more Democratic and less elitist.

... Al Gore.

Sorry to not board your trash-HRC train, but those passengers I'm sure will be by directly.

3. I'd vote for Bobby in a second
less than a second. So I guess the familial relation thing doesn't mean much to me.

It's just a concocted excuse to be against Hillary. There's plenty of real reasons without having to make them up.

5. The whole husband/wife presidency thing rubs me the wrong way.
There is something unseemly about it in America, at least to me.

13. That doesn't bother me so much
as it seems to me that Hillary stayed with a real scoundrel for her own personal ambitions. It's sad enough when the Kennedy wives did it because it was "expected", but for a woman who is trying to tell us that she's independent and strong enough to be President, well that sort of opportunism is sickening. But I was okay when Jean Carnahan was appointed to fill her husband's place. If both people are sincere and equally capable, then I've got no problem with both partners working towards their independent goals.

14. As for the Hillary/Bill marriage
I don't think she stayed with him just because of her own ambitions. I mean, if that were the case, why would he have wanted to stay with her? I think they really do enjoy each other's company. Obviously, their marriage is quite the mystery, but the bottom line is that no one knows why she stayed. A lot of women stay with husbands who cheat, regardless of whether they want to be President or not. But, like I said, it's a mystery, so it's hard to make assumptions.

15. That's what makes a discussion board
You can have your opinion and I can have mine.

As to Bill, I'm sure he stayed with her for the same reason she stayed with him. Political ambition. Democratic Presidents don't get to have divorces the way Republicans do.

Too risky.
