Why the speed to fire Carol Lam? (from the document dump)
doc 2-1 page 45

email from michael elston to various DOJ people
both Carol Lam and Kevin Ryan asked for extensions until april 30 to finish cases they were working on. Elston told them that would be a no, if they got any extension it would be weeks.

"Carol's letter" was mentioned, but it is missing.

Two pages before this, emails mentioned that they granted everyone a one month extension, EXCEPT CAROL. The other attorneys wanted extensions to find jobs. Carol, because of the work she was doing.

So everyone else got an extension but her? Toss in Cheney funding to Wilkes to buying a boat for Duke and it gets really interesting, huh?

2. Carol Lam was the one they all wanted GONE
so the company man they shoved in can end her investigation into the GOP money laundering racket before it gets off the blogs and into the papers.

They managed to do this once before, accept a prosecutor's "resignation" and order the tame replacement to end a potentially embarrassing investigation. It was gone a month later.

In Lam's case, it's pure obstruction of justice. I hope Congress gets involved in what she's been investigating. It's pure dynamite.

The rest were dumped over immigration cases and because their total loyalty to the administration was questioned as they refused to rush cases against Dems before the election.
