The Hillary 1984 AD - Sad that
"someone" has to make shit up about dems. The worst ads that could be run against republicans would be the ones that told the truth.

1. How is the ad making anything up? It's just superimposing HRC's speech into an existing ad.
It doesn't make any assertions about what HRC would or would not do; it didn't make up words for her. It took her own words, and put it into an existing script (with updated dates).

3. Obama said on TV with bush's smirk he had nothing to do with it
But I know a lot of people that are now against him. They thought he had a squeaky clean image and they are tired of attack ads. He is just shooting himself in the foot the longer he wants to take advantage of it.

6. I saw the ad a week or two ago and thought it was the work of an independent satirist.
How do we know it's not HRC's people putting out the ad to cause a backlash against Obama for going negative? We don't.

FWIW -- I stand by my original assumption for now, but am open to other evidence. But assuming it's Obama, and refusing to support him as a result, is as premature as assuming it's HRC and refusing to support her as a result.

8. Yup- and who is to stop pro-Obama people from faking similar ads?
Assuming your theory is valid (I think it is)- then who is to stop Obama or Edward's supporters from faking offensive pro-Hillary ads, then demanding apologies.

This can go round and around- I for one dont care to see a 24/7 apology fest from DEM candidates based on these internet submissions.

7. People are now against him b/c of this internet submission? How many? Four?

I find it hard to believe that he lost any supporters over this- and I wouldnt associate Bush's smirk with Obama's disassociation with it...

If Hillary wants to play this game, I'm sure some negative ads will crop up that she will have to confirm or deny as well.

My first exposure to this ad was a few weeks back- Hillary supporters posted it on DU demanding an apology. I just note that it was Hillary supporters who exposed me to the ad, not Obama supporters.

4. I actually kind of like it.
Hillary is part of the problem in this country. The ad just visually highlighted that fact. She is pro-corporate and pro-miltary. Seems pretty Orwellian to me!

9. IMO, the "ad" does more damage to Rudy, McCain, Edwards and Obama.
Attacks against Hillary have a tendency to boomerang.

For several years now the Dems have used the example of 1984
to describe the bushies. This is a Rovarian move if there ever was one. Turn to table on them before they use this against you. The old black is white routine.

10. I am neither HRC fan, nor Obama fan
This kind of behavior has alerted my radar. If this is tied to Obama I will invoke the curse of Al Checchi.
