Kucinich: "We are at a point in our history when we are told to take impeachment off the table, and
leave attacking Iran on the table."

Kucinich Calls For Peace

March 21st, 2007
In this recent campaign video, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), a staunch anti-war White House hopeful, criticizes the president’s continued war policy.

“We are at a moment in human history where we have to make a decision whether we are going to go deeper into war or whether we are going to take a stand on behalf of peace,” Kucinich says, “I’ve determined a long time ago to take that stand on behalf of peace.”

“We cannot let this administration go any deeper into this journey into destroying Democratic governance, trashing our Constitution, forgetting the very purpose of this nation,” he added.

1. Impeachment
Dennis is true to himself. He has a dream and he sticks to his
guns but Impeachment will NEVER be on the table.
There is NO reason to impeach. Get it together for 08 and give
it your best shot.
Hillary isnt it and Obama is not it so find someone!

3. When the high crimes they've committed in plain sight . . .
. . .haven't moved them to impeach, expecting some "last straw" to come out of their finger-wagging investigations will magically cause them to give up their stubborn adherence to their impeachophobic course it is counter-productive (it gives folks "out here" an excuse to stand on the sidelines).

While I would love them get there on their own the only thing likely to move them them to impeach is us. And we make impeachment a reality by breaking down the rationalizations that are immobilizing them. As long as they remain trapped in a bubble of group-think, rationalization, self-censorship, and denial, our demands for impeachment will continue to slide off like water off a ducks back. We can inject reality into their bubble, but more of us are going to need to get in their faces to do it. Their defenses are powerful but not insurmountable. If we realize that it is up to us, we are far more likely to do what is necessary.

4. No reason to impeach? Are you nuts?

Not Katrina, warrantless searches, AT&T listening posts,
lying us into Iraq, 9/11 coverups, 9/11 negligence (or worse!),
torture, abuse of signing statements, destruction of habeas
corpus, stolen elections, media suppression, crooked Iraq
contracts, outing Val Plame?

Impeachment MUST be accomplished even if it has to be after
Bush is out of office. The broadened powers he has usurped
in accordance with his vision of an imperial executive must
be declared to be off limits to future presidents, and only
impeachment will do that.

Oh, and welcome to DU! :hi:
