I don't know what to think. It depends on how bad the recurrence is, I guess. I can't imagine Edwards contnuing to run if his wife's sick again.

6. I checked the profile too, and I second your statement, but Elizaboth
deserves more than this snipeing.

At the least...wish her well.

7. Already have, on several other posts ...
My reply to this poster's remarks had nothing to do with Elizabeth -- any more than their post has to do with her.

2. Ok. Let's stop thinking negative & expecting the worst. Let's wait & see what they say tomorrow.
Constant speculation is just making everyone crazy. We don't know & probably won't until tomorrow.

Hope for the best.:)

4. I truly, truly hope and pray
that Elizabeth Edwards will be healthy, and that she will be able to continue with her life with her husband and the rest of her family. She has been an inspiration to many of us, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that bad news about her health would break my heart. Prayers and positive vibes are being sent her way.

5. I wish you well Elizabeth. I must say this article doesn't sound
like good news, but no matter what, we all will pray for you tonight.

9. What we should focus on right now
Is on Elizabeth's health. Let's hope and pray (for those religious DUers) for her good health. I'm that's John's priority now, and it should be ours not as Democrats or DUers, but as human beings. Whatever the news is, and the effects this might have on the primaries, the most important thing is Elizabeth's well being.

11. My neice had a reoccurence of breast cancer
where a tumor had attached itself to the chest wall. She had surgery and more rounds of radiation and chemo. She's gone through hell but is OK for right now.

This disease can be beaten.

19. You bet it can.
She's been watched carefully. This is her first recurrence, if that is the case. Typically, when breast cancer returns, it is more aggressive, but if they've caught it early, that's a huge help. Women have beaten it, even with a recurrence.

Damn this disease.

12. It might be a potentially manageable recurrence
One close family friend reached Wednesday evening declined to comment on the announcement, but said it would affect at least temporarily the future of the campaign.

Other supporters and friends contacted said they were unaware of the scope of the announcement. A leading contributor to the campaign, speaking on condition of anonymity, said organizers had not been notified to cancel a long string of events scheduled before the end of March, the deadline for the first-quarter financial reports.

It could be they don't want to get ahead of themselves. We'll have to wait and see.

14. Yep. If he has to stand down for awhile, he'd make a great Attorney General
We sure could use a decent one. And he could run in eight years, too.

18. Born in fifty three--still a young man of fifty three going on four.
He'd be sixty two-ish if he had to wait for another opportunity in eight years.

Of course, it would depend on the VP, who usually kinda gets first crack, if they're any good.

And I am, of course, assuming a Democratic victory followed by eight years of sanity.
