Bushes, "Get out of jail free card"

They didn't replace the US attorneys because they were going after republicans, they replaced them because they didn't want people who would go after Bush. This explains the timing of their, "18 day gap," immediately after the Democratic victory on Nov. 7th. This whole scandal was to keep another Fitzgerald from prosecuting Bush, Cheney, Rove, etc.....not to protect Republicans in general. It was, basically, Bushes get out of jail free card.

He was a Rove operative and was one of the functionaries who pulled off the coup in Florida to steal the 2000 election. He was very proud of himself and was an "opposition" researcher, involved in trying to dig up dirt on democrats. Not the sort of person I would consider to be an ideal candidate for handling non-partisan law enforcement.
