We need to focus on getting the voting machines straightened out for '08!
I posted this yesterday, but it was late at night. Hope I can connect w/more DUers today.

Just wanted to keep this on everyone's mind because we don't want to loose '08 because of the damn electronic voting machines or voter's being turned away when they shouldn't be.

I know the hearings are exciting, but we are running out of time on the voting corruption problem.

I plan on keeping this topic current so it doesn't get put on the back burner as things heat up closer to the election (&/or impeachment!;).

If you feel the same way, please leave a response.

:scared:

5. I agree with you...however, until the Voting Machines are taken
out of the hands of the private sector which may or may not have an agenda there will always be a chance of fraud.

The software and machines must be created by the Federal Election Commission with the best progammers in the country. The software should be able to be evaluated and analyzed any time a citizen wanted to. The security of these machines would be the best the country could offer. The major feature would be 1)paper trail 2)no backdoors (he public IT geeks would be challenged to break the code)and rewarded if they can.

Each State could be a repository for the machines when not in use. There would be a quarterly audit of the machines, software etc. Any machine that fails is sent back to the government headquarters to be analyzed.

I could go on but this would be the only way to use machines.

If the machines cannot be monitored then we go back to paper.

7. Computers created by our government is a lofty idea,
unfortunately, we couldn't make a pop tart to save a soldiers life. I just don't see that happening. Go back to paper and pencil that is the only answer.

8. Back to paper is the quickest, easiest answer. Too bad the voting machine makers snookered so many
districts out of so much $!

$ that could have been put to use to better the communities!

Scammers!
