2. The republicans are just too kind and humble
to go to all the fuss of proving the dems wrong and making them look bad in public. We all know the good christian moral conservatives in the bush white house have done nothing wrong and would tell the truth under oath or not. They are just way too decent to show up the evil sodomite liberals.

3. They're all show trials.

A dude I know is facing charges of child molestation. These, of course, are all overblown accusations. But the police want to talk with him in connection with the investigation. He told them he will talk to them, but that he wants to choose which people he's going to talk to. He also said that he will not allow any transcription or recording of the conversation. He also wants to make sure that the witnesses are not put under oath. He really doesn't want this to become a "show trial" where lawyers start "grandstanding" and trying to make this out to be about him, the big bad child molester. He just wants the truth to come out. If law enforcement doesn't want to take his deal, then they run the risk of not allowing the truth to come out. And nobody wants that.

BTW: Doesn't it just gall you to hear Republicans bitching about "show trials" after what happened to Clinton? I seem to remember that the Clenis had to be produced for inspection. What are these guys on?

4. hehe
Trial? What trial? We're talking about hearings in Congress.

Tony Snow is getting a little ahead of himself talking about trials.

5. We could even have it on an aircraft carrier.
So as not to politicize it or make it too dramatic or anything.
