John And Elizabeth Edwards On 60 Minutes Tonight.......
Friends of the Edwards Family:

Elizabeth and John wanted me to tell you about a TV appearance that will be broadcast on Sunday night. They'll sit down for an interview on 60 Minutes with Katie Couric. The program is scheduled to air Sunday at 7:00 PM ET.

In some parts of the country, 60 Minutes may be delayed by the UNC basketball game. We hope you'll still tune in. You can be sure the Edwards family will be cheering on the Tar Heels like they always do.

Thanks again for your outpouring of support in the last few days. We'll be in touch this week with several important updates from the campaign trail.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Prince
Deputy Campaign Manager
John Edwards for President

Good luck to them.

3. About 1 minute after the awful news, I thought, "Couric's gonna be all over this."

4. yeah, but Couric didn't give up her high powered career when her
husband was sick - so she will have some sympathy.

5. In fact, she very commendably used it to

teach about the type of cancer he had and how to detect it early.

As one who doesn't really like Couric's perkiness or her skeptical looks when she interviews Democrats, I think she is an excellent choice for this. There are obvious parallels and she has her "fan club" and it is big. These are people that Democrats have difficulty reaching. These are people who saw Bush as a great beer drinking buddy and Laura as the perfect wife.

The circumstances are incredably sad and I am positive that John Edwards wished with every fiber of his being that it were not true, but it forces people to see them as real people, with many positive attributes - a luxury that Democrats have likely not had since Clinton, who had part of the media treating when fairly.
