and gawd, I hated that movie.

Abscesses from dirty needles (or reused needles that have been lying around someplace) can be deadly. The last case of flesh-eating Strep A I saw was in a junkie who reused his needles until they could no longer penetrate skin. He reused one of them just one time too many.

If you use needles, folks, make sure you use a very weak bleach solution to sterilize them. Bleach won't kill everything, but it will kill the great majority of the troublesome stuff.

For those of you whose bew tocks just clenched at that, isn't it better to keep people alive and with the hope that they'll get off the addiction path and heal themselves?
