How much cred for this supposed Russian intel leak of impending US attack on Iran
We all suspect it's coming, but here is a concrete date.

Has anyone frequented this site before? How reliable are they?

http://www.inteldaily.com/?c=166&a=1478

WASHINGTON DC, -- "The long awaited US military attack on Iran is now on track for the first week of April, specifically for 4 am on April 6, the Good Friday opening of Easter weekend, writes the well-known Russian journalist Andrei Uglanov in the Moscow weekly “Argumenty Nedeli.” Uglanov cites Russian military experts close to the Russian General Staff for his account.

The attack is slated to last for 12 hours, according to Uglanov, from 4 am until 4 pm local time. Friday is the sabbath in Iran. In the course of the attack, code named Operation Bite, about 20 targets are marked for bombing; the list includes uranium enrichment facilities, research centers, and laboratories."

1. Attacking on a Friday would make the Muslim World love us even more
than they do now. So I certainly wouldn't put it past the Insane Clown Posse to try such a thing.

On the other hand, we've been hearing an attack on Iran was imminent for months. And the question remains: With what army? Our military appears to be in no shape for a shooting war with Iran.

13. You Got That Right!
If the evil ghouls within The Unitary Executive follows through with such an insane action, the Democrats in The House best reverse their stance and impeach them all. Impeach, with extreme predjudice. :grr:

The Devil's Rejects? INDEED!!!

3. Not just any Friday either
Good Friday no less, if there is any truth to this the "planners" should give some thought to what happened the following Sunday, I shudder to think of what could "rise" out such an act.

4. Oh, cripes.
Well, they knew we were going into Iraq months before we did. They watch the borders over there. They saw what we were doing.

Would I be the least surprised that George was stupid enough to do this? Nah. I can see how he's selling it to himself: swift surgical strikes with maximum impact and no bad consequences. The world will applaud and American supremacy will be restored, and the American people will shout HURRAH! GEORGE HAS SAVED US! WE SHOULD HAVE BELIEVED IN HIM. And he will jump 100 points in the polls.

Actual consequences? God help us all.

Iraqi Shiites and Iranian Shiites hate each other's guts. It's been our one protection. Iran might help for now, but the alliance won't last. And it's shaky at best. If we do this....

The unpredictable factor for me is that Iran has its own George Bush. If we give them their own 9/11, and what else would you call this, will they do what we did? Cede all power to the idiot leader? Or will they show the sense we never did and oust him? Will they see it as his fault or ours?

Because if enraged Persians pour over the border seeking bloody revenge....there are 160,000 of us, as much again in mercenaries.....and seventy million of them. With enough oil money to actually arm and armor their people.

And it ain't like they don't have a heads up.

18. No one is mentioning.....
all the ME peoples who live in the states...Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians, Lebanese, you name it...now, someone tell me....IF you moved here and still had relatives at home...then we decided to attack your homeland, (actually for no reason)and possibly kill your relatives..how much of this would you be willing to watch, before you decided you were in a perfect place to retaliate? I find it amazing that no one seems to mention such a possibility...

5. I would not be surprised if this comes to pass.
I do fear that Israel will get the brunt of the retribution. Of course, nothing would please that idiot John Hagee more.

I wounder what Hagee will say if they hold Armageddon and Jesus pulls a no-show... :scared:

Line Drawn in the Sand for Iran

World Powers Prepare to Evacuate Their Citizens from the Country
This weekend the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution imposing harsh sanctions against Iran. The resolution gives Tehran two months to cease its nuclear program, but hopes that the ultimatum will be heeded are almost nonexistent. Instead, the world is bracing for the increasing likelihood of a military strike against Iran. Kommersant has learned that Russian companies working in the country are already working on plans to evacuate their employees, and Russian diplomats also acknowledge that preparations to evacuate Russian citizens from the country are underway and that evacuations could begin as early as May.
The Exit is Near

Rumors that almost all of the world's leading powers are concerned about an upcoming evacuation of their citizens from Iran were flying at the end of last week even before the adoption in New York of UN Security Council resolution #1747. The first to spread the story was the Associated Press, which quoted unidentified European diplomats and American officials as saying that Moscow is bringing home all Russian citizens currently working on the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. Reports of preparations for evacuation were sharply denied at an official level by the Russian nuclear agency Rosatom and by Atomstroiexport, the company that manages all Russian-led nuclear power plant construction projects abroad. "These rumors are completely groundless," said Atomstroiexport spokeswoman Irina Yesipova. "What is happening is the normal process of rotating specialists at the construction site: some specialists are leaving, while others are arriving. There are currently around 2,000 people working at the site; last year there were moments when there were more – up to 2,500 people when the work was progressing particularly intensively – and there were times when their number shrunk to 1,500," she said. According to Ms. Yesipova, 100 to 150 Russian specialists will leave the Bushehr plant this month, while around 60 will arrive to replace them.

17. The latest UN resolution against Iran passed UNANIMOUSLY!
Even Russia & China voted against Iran. That tells me
Iran is up to no good to roil the entire UN security
council against them.

19. Up to no good?
You mean they're funding the same nuke program that the Shah was publically funding, with the support of US nuclear power corporations?

US nuclear power industry was ADVERTISING their investment in Iran, in the 1970s.

Today, it is the Russian nuke industry that is advertising their involvement.

SO, why would Russia and China endorse sanctions that eliminate their own business transactions in Iran, oil deals, nuclear power, arms sales, etc.?

Was DU wrong about Russia and China having interests in Iran?

Is Iran no longer part of the Cooperation Pact with Russia and China?

23. I can't ever recall the Shah of Iran ever
calling for the destruction of Israel -or- calling
USA the great satan -or- actively funding & supporting
insurgents -or- fighting a war with Iraq -or- holding
400 US hostages for several months -or- promoting sharia
style of Islam.

If you can't see the difference between policies of the Shah
vis-a-vis the ayatollah/ahmedinejad regime, then nothing I say
will alter your mind.

8. I've been wondering how an attack might affect subpoenas.
I have this fear that suddenly Gonzales and Rove and the subpoenas and fifth amendment pleas might take a back seat. After all, would that not be "war"? Of course none of this is actually WAR. But I get this crappy feeling these clowns know just how much trouble they're in.

10. Still think they need a casus belli.
As much as they'd like to pull the trigger, they'd have to have a damn good reason. Not sure that the military wants to start a war in the Persian Gulf right now. They probably are thinking about the 200,000 US personnel in Iraq on the ground there. Now, I know the AF has a bunch of crazy religious fundies at the top of the chain....but will the US Navy follow suit? I'd also be concerned with a few hundred supersonic missle launches that might come at them from a variety of directions. How will the military react to orders from these desperate criminals in the WH? We know Bush-Cheney probably don't have anything to lose in a go-for-broke scenario, but will saner heads in the military go along? IIRC, the heads of the German military weren't immune from the Nuremburg war crime trials.

The more the domestic news for the Republican Syndicate turns against them, the more concerned I get with these criminals using another world war to club the opposition at home. How will the Democrats and the American people react? I sure would like to see some polling that addresses this scenario.

11. Not so sure --
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 12:11 AM by AJ9000
Edit: Correct misleading spelling error.

The military almost certainly will follow the orders of the commander-in-chief. It's a little dangerous for them not to in case a legitimate threat really does present self. It's been rumored that several high level military people, such as Peter Pace, have threatened to resign if * moves forward with this plan. So if the military resists, I think it will be along these lines.

As for a "casus belli" one can either be manufactured, or they could just use manufactured threats as they did with Iraq.

22. Webster G. Tarpley
I don't know about the website but Tarpley is a 9-11 truther. He was supposed to be a speaker here in Chandler Az last month at the "9-11 Accountability Conference" but I'm not sure if he showed up. A lot of the scheduled speakers pulled out because the organizers turned out to be a bunch of Holocaust deniers in addition to 9-11 truthers. From what I read about him, not very credible.
