33. Oil will go through the roof
and with it gasoline will become much more expensive. comrade Little George, the Neocons, and the media will blast us with the USA must become energy efficient. comrade Reid will pat himself on the back for putting the corn farmers in the gasoline business. The truth is the corn farmer in the gasoline business has not helped bring oil prices down one bit and increased corn prices is what is causing grocery store inflation. The fact is there is plenty of oil and the Arabs need to sell their oil. However when the Neocons deliberately want to hurt the people financially they stop the flow of oil. Burning oil tankers clogging the Straights of Hormuz will send the price of oil through the roof. Rising oil prices and Reid's bionergy program will/should cause massive inflation and we can bet there is a Paul Voler type in the wings who has a plan in place to raise interest rates to stem the inflation. Nothing is more inflationary than rising interest rates. 16% interest rates in the 1980s and I had $300,000.00 borrowed on manufactered homes and other business and I could not give homes away - not fun. Companies will consolidate to make it, people will be massive hurt financially. This is why the Neocons gave us Sept. 11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and now Iran is in their crosshairs. Deliberately manipulating oil prices up is how the Neocons transfer our wealth to them. After the destituting is done and communi$m furthered, the Neocons will turn the oil valve on, there is no oil shortage, oil prices should plunge to less than $10 per barrel, and the Neocons will have stolen trillions, and yes all this will touch our lives.

8. Ordinarily they would 'rally round the flag'
but since there is Iraq, it's hard to say. Those old enough to remember the 1979 hostage crisis might be more likely to want revenge, but that would be misplaced; the old ayatollah is long dead, even though their theocracy is still in place. So it's a mixed bag, and I thjink it's a function of how each person views the Iraq debacle.

Of course bush's 25% hard core supporters would back him if he invaded Belgium, so they don't count.

12. probably a "how the hell did they do that?"
I don't think Americans are stupid people. I think that the average first response would basically be "with what troops," followed by "for what reason." I don't think it'd mean falling lockstep with the administration.

that said, I don't think there'll be a major attack on Iran, and if there's anything it probably wouldn't be beyond a very limited tit for tat. neither leader has much credibility with their people, and the weeks and months of signs of ramping up for military operations have not shown themselves.

17. I think "average" Americans will be dismayed but not surprised
that their wishes are being once again IGNORED by this maladministration.

I suspect most Americans already feel their wishes to bring our troops in Iraq home, as expressed roundly by their voting Dems into the majority last November, are being ignored.

Since most don't know what DUers know because they aren't allowed to hear the truth on the corporate media outlets they listen to, they are largely unaware of the valiant efforts (yes I think they're valiant) of Dem leaders who are invoking their oversight duties in committees in Congress.

I doubt it will be clear for a rather long while yet to the broader public just how far Dems are going to push for accountability from the Bu$h admin that has so wronged us all.

In spite of this lack of accurate information from a dysfunctional "fourth estate," I believe "average" Americans will surprise many in this maladministration with their utter disgust for the imperial attitudes of Bu$hCo that continue on unabated in spite of the public's clear wishes to the contrary.

What I think will result is a steady increase in the public backing of all the investigations and interrogations of Bu$h maladmin officials for illegal and immoral acts taken during the last six years. The more the public supports these actions being taken to hold them accountable, the more real oversight will be done -- and hopefully the more Bu$h officials right up to the very top will actually be held accountable!

it will only be known after the fact. Already, there is so little unfiltered 'news'. The fact that the Iraqi government has yet to dole out those oil contracts makes me wonder.

Only about 40% of Americans would support the President
in a war with Iran. A Majority ssid--Let Iran have the

I agree Iraq influences opinions but somehow I also
believe people are catching onto the Propaganda Roll
of Fox News.

From this I gather there would be trouble if GWB just
plows ahead ignoring everyone and attaclng Iran.

for them is imminent and the dates floating around are March 29 to May 24 with the Russians saying Aprilo 6? How do Americans even realize what is happening?

We may not even be able to believe that 15 British in a small boat-ship of 141 feet were cpatured by x number of Iranians in and 8 foot boat.

It may all be too late unless there is a miracle of response or unless there is peace maker country out there who rides in to save innocents.

38. Yes, call Congress, but call your neighbors too
One call to a senator is good, but if you can get 50 friends and neighbors to call, so much the better.

Also, if we wait until Bush trumps up some excuse for an attack, Americans are more likely to go along with it. If they're warned that Bush is planning it now, without any provocation from Iran, they'll be more skeptical during the build-up and possibly more outraged when it happens.

So please pass the word now. Go to StopIranWar.com for ideas on how to pass the word, talking points for LTTE, flyers, doorhangers, petitions. Of just forward the link to your mailing list. They can use the site to write to their own representatives and senators.

Please, help get the word out before it's too late.

35. Thus far, General Clark has not been wrong on his pronouncements.....
and he foretold that there will be a war against Iran......

Many ignored Wes Clark's serious quest to "manage" this before the shit hit the fan.....but cause he's not some's favorite and/or he ain't running, few actually listened to his words of warning and forecast.

Indeed, that's how "small" we've become in our judgement of what's important. Only 30,000+ have signed Clark and VoterVets.org's demands to Bush to NOT start shit....or to not instigate a response by military means in case Iran starts some shit. And, as I have already predicted most (liberals and otherwise) won't care until we are actually in a war with Iran....then they will become enraged and indignant. It's called managing issue via crisis.....which answers another puzzle; why we waited until February of 2003 to march against an Invasion in Iraq that occurred in early March of 2003 when the possibility of an invasion had been discussed as early as mid 2002. Our asses should have been showing up to protest in larger numbers earlier, IMO. There were a few marches prior to the big ones in February, but only a few showed up. Guess that's what happens when we don't recognize the warning signs until after the fact!

Some are leading now on this.....while others will be leading from the rear on this.....

and they will be pissed when they realize that the neocons, their neolib allies, and the Israel Lobby, all had a hand in rejecting Iran's overtures to US back in 2003.

I can feel a sort of tidal change in the American mood. All of a sudden impeachment is in the air, revolution is in the air. It's almost like we've all come to a silent understanding that Bushco is reckless, arrogant, power-hungry & must be stopped. The 29% keep screaming, of course, but no one is listening. We're waiting, and sharing sidelong glances about the crazy man in the middle of the room. About how we're going to handle him if he goes off. If Bush attacks Iran, I think Americans are more than ready to take him out.
