Jim Webb "Born Fighting" Pac to support Mary Landrieu, Tim Johnson...

Today, I am happy to announce Born Fighting PAC's first 4 featured candidates: Del. Donald McEachin, Del. David Poisson, U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, and U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson.

Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu is running for her third term in the U.S. Senate in 2008. In the aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Senator Landrieu has fought to make sure that the federal government lives up to its commitments to the people of her state -- and that fight continues. With hundreds of thousands of lives affected, and with tens of thousands of homes and businesses still to be rebuilt, the people of Louisiana still need support -- and they have no greater advocate than Mary Landrieu.

Given the changing demographics of the state, and the displacement of so many New Orleans residents who still have not been able to return, it's clear that Senator Landrieu will face a tough re-election battle. But Mary Landrieu has never backed down from a fight -- and I respect that, as I hope Born Fighting PAC does as well.

Senator Mary Landrieu's re-election campaign needs help from those who share our views.

1. Actually Mary Landrieu has backed down from a lot of fights
with republics that is. She has voted with the pubs on a lot of key issues IIRC. And she really has not fought very hard to make sure the feds take care of Katrina victims. As long as we are gonna make a virtue out of fighting, there are a lot better choices than this cream puff. Who's the next "fighter" they'll endorse - Joe Loserman?

3. Like her or not, Landrieu is far and away the most vulnerable Democratic senator
I put her chances at re-election at less than 50/50. So, she needs all the help she can get.

2. I still like Jim Webb
He's way more conservative than me, but I like the guy a lot. Still.

I also think this will get under the skin of many DUers.

5. If no dem challenges Landrieu (and I doubt anyone will)
she is far better then any candidate from the Louisiana lunatic republican party who would run. Just imagine a jim inhofe with a boo-dro twang.

I'd rather Mary's brother Mitch run. He said he will run for Governor of John Breaux does not.

6. Landrieu's Problem
Landrieu's problem is that lots of Democrats no longer live in Louisiana.
