Are they subpoening emails with FULL HEADERS or Standard Headers?

Emails with standard headers will not show the path of the email.

Full headers will determine the real source of the email. A user could use a computer at home and utilize the account at work or vice versus. It will aid in determing whether the email is true or forged. It will show the ip of the computer sending the message.

If receivers were BCC it will show all addresses in the sender's copy.

1. If they demand a dump of the computer mailbox files and the server logs

they would get all that information.

I would also look at the backup tapes just to be thorough.

With any other organization, investigators might seize
the computers altogether.
