New Evidence Exposes Apparent Illegal 2004 Recount Activity By Hocking County GOP Election Director
http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/19/2007/2509

New Ohio evidence exposes apparently illegal 2004 recount activity by Hocking County's GOP Election Director, and a stinging complaint is filed in Cleveland
by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman
March 26, 2007

The Republican executive director of the Hocking County Board of Elections (BOE) may have written at least one memo outlining possibly illegal behavior during the scandal-ridden 2004 Ohio presidential recount. And an explosive five-count complaint has been filed by Ohio's new Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, against two GOP directors in Cuyahoga County. It is built in part on evidence gleaned from the federal report issued by Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) after the 2004 election, from stories broken at the Freepress.org website, and evidence gathered by grassroots voting rights activists in Cleveland.

After the 2004 election, the Green Party and Libertarian Party paid $113,620.00 for a recount of the state's presidential balloting.

1. I loves me some Brunner!
She is smart, tough, an elections expert, and totally fair.

I wonder if the media will touch any of the bombs that are going to
come out on Ohio 2004? ...... Blackwell better be praying that the republican
packed courts protect his ass.

2. OHIO 2004: 6.15% Kerry-Bush vote-switch found in probability study
I wonder if Hocking County had similar irregularities??

OHIO 2004: 6.15% Kerry-Bush vote-switch found in probability study
DU Discussion: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x259620

Defining the vote outcome probabilities of wrong-precinct voting has revealed, in a sample of 166,953 votes (1/34th of the Ohio vote), the Kerry-Bush margin changes 6.15% when the population is sorted by probable outcomes of wrong-precinct voting.

The Kerry to Bush 6.15% vote-switch differential is seen when the large sample is sorted by probability a Kerry wrong-precinct vote counts for Bush. When the same large voter sample is sorted by the probability Kerry votes count for third-party candidates, Kerry votes are instead equal in both subsets.

3. Hocking County's problem had to do w/ Triad voting systems
vote switching would be hard to tell because the recount was
"rigged." The employee of Triad systems visited 6 or so counties
and worked on the machine's hardware to "help em" to get ready
for the recount.

Even though a lot of south and eastern Ohio's counties are "red neck"
they also have a democratic tradition from union coal miners and factory
workers.

That would be balanced out by the "fundie christian" vote that was solid for
bush.
