DOJ doc dump: "Thousands of pages" -- what % are unique though?
Anyone who has glanced through the thousands of pages that have been released, already know well that there is extensive redundancy, and I'm wondering if anyone has actually quantified this.

Even in the hearings this morning, this quote about "thousands of pages" keeps coming up, and yet nobody seems to mention that most of it is repititious.

I'd guess that something like 80% is redundant.

Anyone know a certain figure?

1. Don't have a figure but duplicates are part of document production
That is because large organizations cc everyone. What you are probably getting are files from the various different people who read the same documents. It is important to get them all because some copies may have handwritten notations and some may be drafts that clarify who did what.

2. Absolutely, I understand that
But, content-wise, there's relatively little. Suggesting to me at least, that *much* more exists, somewhere. Or, used to exist.

When the phrase about "thousands of pages" is tossed around, it seems to be implying 2 things: 1) that a whole lot of relevent material was made available and 2) that it takes a lot of time to sift through (whish is quite true, almost to the point of distraction).

3. It should make it difficult for anyone to try and delete all incriminating evidence.

Unless I was the one going thru it... provided I had sufficient time.
