OMG, the Repukes had the hearing stopped!!
Edited on Thu Mar-29-07 01:22 PM by jojo54
They're getting their asses kicked in this one and now they're crying foul.

The hearing has to stop until the Senate finishes their session. Then, I don't know what will happen.

Edited to add: The C-Span announcer just said something about a Senate committee hearing cannot take place during a Senate session. My question is, they've been in session for at least 2 hours, so why did they wait until now???? Have we caught the dog standing next to the pile of poop?

3. It was not going well for the Repubs
It seemed as if the dems were prosecutors and the repubs were defense attorneys.

6. I agree with Leahy.
To NOT follow the Senate Rules, no matter how maddening they are, leaves Leahy and the whole process up to unnecessary ridicule and bad press. Best he follow the Rules -- unlike the Repugs -- and then get back to the Hearing at the appropriate time. Then one of two things will happen: either Sampson will continue digging himself in a deeper hole or he'll start pleading the 5th. Either way, it's great to watch.

4. I think Sampson is doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself.
He's lying through his teeth, and it seems that even some of the Repub senators are not trying to cover it up.

8. This has the smell of Mitch McConnell about it
According to the Senate rules, it's the minority leader who must consent to extending a hearing beyond 2 hours when the Sentate is in session.
