If Blair starts the war with Iran
it lets B*sh off the hook.

He can say "I didn't start this war, but now we're in this situation we have to help our British allies and protect our interests in Iraq and the region".

2. What does he care?
He's yesterday's news, and today's fish-and-chips paper. He knows he's on the way out, and without a glowing legacy behind him, thanks to Dubya.

3. Blair has a difficulty with declaring war on his own
Because such a declaration would have to come through the Privy Council; which has Brown(heir apparent), Campbell(3rd party leader) and Cameron(Opposition leader); AND gain the approval of HM the Queen. None of those are going to agree to an attack.

6. not so sure
we're not like the US with a constitution
there's only protocol nothing binding, if Blair can convince the cabinet the whips will do the rest and the opposition, house of lords and queen count for nothing
It's just the way it is, no-one knows whats going on behind the scenes it's a closed book
Like when they brought in Becket as foreign secretary, no-one knew why and it wasn't big news
Blair also has used the rotten trick of relying on Tory votes to pass right wing leglislation, he counts on the Tories at every turn
No, if Blair wants to do it, there's nothing stopping him except perhaps the people, which could explain his penchant for public surveillance and keeping us scared. Funny thing is, no-one I know is falling for it, no-one believes a word they say!

5. You and I are thinking the same thing.
I posted on another thread about an Iranian woman I know-
she is my hair dresser actually. She has family in Iran and is
extremely worried about them. They are trying to get out,
but it is nearly impossible. Apparently the people in Iran
know it is a matter of when, not if, and are scared out of their wits.
Many trying to leave before hell breaks loose.
I'm afraid. Truly afraid of the blowback this
administration is about to unleash on the innocent
people of the world.
