The only identification we used then (in my home state of NY) was a paper driver's license, no photo. His use of troop is a deliberate effort by the White House Politicians to de-personalize the American "Solders" by referring to them as "Troops" instead of the more personal "Soldier," which makes it much easier for them to send all those "Troops" into an un-winnable Civil War that they caused though their incompetence.
