Why did this story get so little covergae today? (True Heroes)

On edit: the story's not perfectly clear. The suvivors gathered today in the US Capitol as the unit was given awards and medals.

Tuskegee Airmen Honored

Jane Flasch (Rochester, N.Y.) - A group of men was once told they weren't good enough, but they went on to fight bravely for their country.

Sixty-five years later the nation’s first African American combat pilots, the Tuskegee Airmen were awarded the Congressional Gold Metal. it’s the highest civilian honor congress can give.

At 84, Charles Pride recently climbed into a refurbished two-seater P-51 and took over the controls. It’s been 67 years since he first put on the uniform of the Army Air Corps.

Then 18, he quickly got a glimpse of what the military would be like. In Niagara Falls he was separated from his friends--his white friends.

1. sorta OT but a friend of mine flew p-51s in Korea and later...
...spraying DDT all over the western U.S. He still sounds reverent when he talks about that airplane.

9. Remarkable record as well
The Tuskegee Airmen did their job by flanking B-17 on bombing runs to protect them from enemy planes. In hundreds of missions over Europe, not a single bomber was lost while directly under their escort.
Sounds like these guys out shined those metals anyway.

10. Not a single bomber lost on their watch...
that's a hell of an accomplishment right there, let alone what they had to go through just to get in the air in the first place. :)
