Boehner booed by construction workers’ union

Boehner booed by construction workers’ union.

Fox News tells the story:

House Minority Leader John Boehner was booed on Wednesday at a construction workers’ union legislative forum for saying the United States needs to fight the war in Iraq or face terror attacks at home.

“Who doesn’t believe that if we just pull out of Iraq and come home that the terrorists won’t follow us here and we’ll be fighting them on the streets of America?” Boehner, R-Ohio, said to members attending the AFL-CIO’s Building & Construction Trades Department’s legislative forum.

Apparently, most in the crowd don’t believe it. Boos from the audience grew louder as Boehner continued, “This is a, ladies and gentlemen, this is a serious fight.”

2. gee, I didn't know al-Qaeda had a naval fleet
I mean, in order to support "fighting on the streets of 'Murika" they would need a supply line and logistics platform. In short, they would need a navy, at the very least.

Statements like bone-head made deserve to be booed. They are poor on many, many levels.

3. What's stopping them from coming here NOW?
I don't get the logic. Is the Iraq war like a giant magnet - an irresistable force for terrorists that they cannot escape - like a Star Trek tractor beam? "Sir, the terrorist containment field is weakening! When it fails, all the terrorists will head straight for US!"

Sheesh. As if they couldn't come here tomorrow. Thank God for our secure borders! (Oops). Thank God for our well-trained TSA agents, with their GED-or-1-year-mall-cop requirement! (Oops). Thank God we don't transport unscanned cargo in passenger planes! (Oops).

I think I'll quit now.

with 30 gun-waving insurgents in the bed?

6. The last batch didn't come in a Toyota.
They didn't even come from IRAQ. Since they didn't swim, I'm guessing they flew. And if they flew then, they can most likely fly now. Since it's my personal belief that there do exist some people who might engage in terrorist activities who are currently located OUTSIDE of Iraq. Which we are doing nothing about.

5. No no no... It's like this:
So long as 'we' stay in Iraq they can kill our troops there. But they like killing our troop so much that 'they' will follow them here to kill them (and certainly the rest of us!) if need be.

Wait a minute... It must be this: Our troop is keeping them ALL bottled up now in Iraq. If we CUT and RUN, then "they" will be able to get out of the places in which we have them trapped there, and come here and...um... It's like when the VC were going to land in San Diego in 1968. Or was that Seattle???

Someone else want to try this??

19. Nah, the VC were headed for Texas and Alabama.
That's why the fearless warrior Lord Pissypants duked his way into a champagne Guard unit. (That and the fact that he loved the way he looked when he shoved three pairs of gym socks, a bar of soap, and a 2-liter Diet Coke down the front of his flight suit.)

11. Follow us home? With their large air fleet and submarines? That is the most absurd
argument I've heard against this pull out. Will someone ask the next person who says this "Exactly how are they going to follow us home? HOW ARE THEY GOING TO DO THAT?"

They try so hard to make everyone believe that every single terrorist is in Iraq.

13. Yeah, please tell me where exactly "they" are gonna follow us. I'll just be waiting at the border...
...along with the Border Patrol, Coast Guard, Minutemen, and anybody else with a shotgun to pick 'em off before they touch U.S. soil.

15. Junior screens out everybody except indoctrinated zombies
Maybe Boehner should consider the tactic. That a pretty good gurantee of light attendance these days though.

I never could figure out how they can promote their Flypaper Doctrine but at the same time say that another major terrorist attack here is inevitable. Terra terra!

And did anybody remember that Iraq was not involved in the 911 attacks? Hello Mr. Minority Leader? So are we fighting somebody else 'there' in Iraq so that the people 'somewhere else' who attacked us before will stay home and watch it on TV and not attack us again 'here'?

17. Silly Republican, Tricks are for Rove.
Does Boner think that he's addressing the "Reagan Democrats" of the 80s and trying to stir up some "moos-lim" hatred amongst the salt of the earth?

I seriously think this batch of clowns, in place since 1994, have effectively destroyed the credibility of the Puke party for decades. That's no exaggeration. Insanity is tossing the same old bullshit multiple times and thinking your target diners will eat it. Or . . . something like that.

18. Boner is an Idiot....
...maybe all the nicotine poisoning has killed the brain cells that understand reality.

He is old enough and so am I to remember this stupid tag line from Vietnam and Reagan's little jaunt in Central America: both times Repigs tried to sell the American people on the idea that if X country allows a communist takeover, it's only a matter of time before the yellow/brown hordes follow us over the pacific/thru Dallas, TX to destroy our way of life.

Well, as far as I can tell, Americans are still enjoying their capitalistic, comsumer society with no threat. Our govt must think we're really stupid that they can continue to try to scare us with these shadowy boogeymen.

And John Boner is just a huge tool who probably wishes he had a huge tool so is grabbing power to overcompensate.
