Kyle et al political hacks; claim no intimate knowledge of high stakes political cases

From watching the hearings yesterday, I marveled aghast at Sampson's completely disingenous answers when he was asked about the various high stakes investigations or cases from each of the districts where USAs had been forced out.

He professed essentially little insider knowledge (some he said he had no knowledge of, some he said he only had read media accounts about, some he said some knowedge) about the Cunningham investigation, the governor's race in Washington State, the challenges there to votes and voting suppression/fraud allegations, the investigation in the governors of Nevada and Missouri, the investigations of Democrats in New Mexico, etc etc.

This guy was not hired by the AG for his legal analysis - he never worked fulltime as a prosecutor - he handled only one criminal case - this guy was a pure political junkie - formed in Rove's image. Yet, he claimed no real knowledge of these matters? Please.

Either he's an idiot or he thinks we are.

1. OTOH, I'm sure that Rove has mastered the art of compartmentalizing
his nefarious plans, giving out only the minimum information required only to those that really need to know. And I don't doubt that the Bush administration is full of slavishly loyal lackeys who are happy to carry out the marching orders they are given without needing to know why.

But you're right; probably not at Sampson's level.
