Guiliani whoops Hillary and edges out Obama in new Times Poll

In a trial-heat against Clinton, Giuliani has widened his lead over the New York Senator to 9 points (50% - 41%) an increase of 5 points since mid-March. Giuliani still faces a tight race against Barack Obama, 45% Giuliani vs. 44% Obama, little changed from 2 weeks ago (44% Obama vs. 43% Giuliani).

I don't see a match-up with Edwards, however. THAT would be interesting; Edwards has surged 9 points since his Elizabeth's announcement.

If Hillary gets nominated, we are COOKED. Surge, Edwards, surge. I think he's the one who can beat Rudy, Saint of 9-11.

3. ANother day, another poll showing Hillary underperforming the general election
The question is, will this ever effect the people who support her?

5. Fred will be the GOP nominee because Hill will destroy Rudy - but Fred will be tough
Law and Order gives one a good image.

6. A Giuliani-Thompson ticket would be extremely difficult

for us to beat. This would be a MAGNET for white male swing voters, in all regions of the country. Do not underestimate this combo!!!

I am a Edwards booster, but even he would need help against those two. Some combination of Edwards, Gore and/or Jim Webb is needed.

7. I agree - but I expect Fred as the head of the ticket - Our top three might still
beat him - but it will be tough.

I really do not see Hillary having a problem with Rudy, despite the current polls.

8. Giuliani is not going to win anything when the citizens find out about
the real Rudy.

9. This poll is consistent with other recent polls.
It will be intereting to see how long the Edwards "surge" lasts.
