Got really mad last night watching Numb3rs
Toward the end one of the FBI guys was interrogating a suspect and threatened him with a trip to "Guantanamo" if he didn't start telling them what they wanted to know and I really lost it and started yelling at the television. That's what this country has been reduced to (and don't tell me this doesn't happen in real life) - threatening people with torture and concentration camps.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Republican for bringing George Bush and Dick Cheney to power. If there's one breath left in my body I will work to see a Republican never holds office in this country again.

2. exactly. I don't understand why people think there's anything 'cool' about barbarianism
I was raised to abhor crap like this, and yet here are these grab-ass republicans trying to make torture 'sexy'.

It's disgusting and loathesome and does not bode well for us as a country, IMO.

3. refinement versus coarseness...
the upper class twittery think of themselves as refined, gentle /men/women, but the popular culture has always seemed to push the opposite(?) ideal-it's almost as if they, the powerful upper class twits in control, mock the decent humane because they know in their hearts they're really pigs as vile as anything met in an drainage pipe. So they glorify coarseness (while singing praise the fukking lord)
