...Let me explain what it will mean for your annual tax bill if the Democrats get their way.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/03/20070331.html

...........Let me explain what it will mean for your annual tax bill if the Democrats get their way. If you have children, the Democrats would raise your taxes by $500 for each child. If you're a family of four making $60,000 a year, the Democrats would raise your taxes by more than $1,800. If you're a single mother with two children working to make ends meet, the Democrats would raise your taxes by more than $1,000. If you are a small business owner working to meet a payroll, the Democrats would raise your taxes by almost $4,000. And more than five million low-income Americans who currently pay no income taxes because of our tax relief would once again have to pay. Whether you have a family, work for a living, own a business, or are simply struggling to get by on a low income, the Democrats want to raise your taxes.

The Democrats plan to spend all those extra tax dollars. In the Senate, Democrats have passed a budget that would spend $145 billion more than I have requested over the next five years. In the House, Democrats have passed a budget that would spend even more -- $213 billion above my request.

With their budgets, the Democrats have revealed their true intentions. During the last campaign, Democrats said that under their "pay as you go" approach, they would pay for their new spending. Now we see what they meant by that. The Democrats have chosen a "tax as you go" approach that requires you to cut your spending to pay higher taxes. And Democrats will use these higher taxes to spend more of your money on their special interest projects.

Our Nation cannot afford such reckless taxing and spending. Under my Administration, we have kept your taxes low and restrained government spending in Washington. Now, America's economy is leading the world, with an economic expansion that has produced 42 months of uninterrupted job growth and created more than 7.5 million new jobs. The fastest way to stop this growth in its tracks would be to allow the Democrats in Congress to impose higher taxes on you so they can spend more of your money.

3. And these numbers are more accurate than
anything else coming from that den of iniquity? I know lots of average Americans with a family of four who ain't making anything near 60K/yr.

5. ...Let me explain what it will mean for your FREEDOMS if the Republicans get their way
If you have Freedom of Speech, it will be taken away.

If you have a right against unreasonable searches and seizures, it will be taken away.

If you have any rights remaining, they will be taken away.

You will have only the right to do what the Republicans tell you to do. You will think about things that the Republicans want you to think about.

Republicans will use your children as fodder in one war after another. The war will be sold to you as a Patriotic and Good endeavor, but will in actuality be about securing energy resources.

Republicans will allow public infrastructure to decay, social services lapse and will completely defund FEMA.

In the end you will learn to love the Republicans.

9. My tax dollars are being spent by Bush on partisan politics.
His weekly address is supposed to be about the nation, not a campaign speech at taxpayers' expense.
The GOP should pay for it if it is going to be political!

When did the Dems say we were cutting off the Child Tax Credit, for example? And why does Idiotboy think it's 500 bucks per kid? It's 1,000.

He's a moran.

11. what about the alternative minimum tax?
never mind that less workers would have to pay that monstrosity if our budget was signed! Republicans don't care about balancing the budget, paying taxes to support our troops, or reducing bureaucracy.

the Department of Homeland Security..some badly needed bureaucrats to advise our generals in the Department of Defense!

13. A department we could do without
The Department of Homeland Security, that is. An utter waste of taxpayer money almost any way you measure it.

A whole Federal department dedicated to the production of security theater.

15. If the Dems can do something about gas prices
which are passed along to us consumers in everything we buy, then I will pay more taxes and still have more money. Look how much more we are paying for utilities, food, etc. Everything is affected by these high gas prices. Bushco just keeps getting richer on the backs of hard working citizens.

16. It seems to me that Bush's tax-cuts...
are like pre-pledged campaign contributions...and a nice kitty with easy access for the big boys, to ante up and infuse the market when it needs. I want a new board game...monopoly doesn't cut it.

18. maybe Democrats need to ditch morality to whip Republicans..
Republicans did this, and it only helps them in every election.

We need to take this to a new level. We can provide universal healthcare, and we will do it by abolishing the FICA tax!! this will bring in a flood of new revenue from the resulting booming economy. we support the war on terrorism, but we'll fund this war by abolishing the income tax for all voters! we'll cut your taxes..and pay for it by bringing home the troops from Iraq!

what about entitlement reform? let's make everything a tax free entitlement...that way we'll give the voters everything they wish for while taking nothing in return. time to see how low Republicans will go, I'm sick of being told I am wrong because taxpayers have to fund it! Instead of military spending and funding for homeland security, let's just promise free healthcare and jobs. We can provide universal healthcare and employment, and we can promise this by using the Republican tactics. We will increase spending and eliminate all your taxes, not keep them like Republicans would do!

22. too late, the Republicans already have a monopoly on that lie
they promise it every two years. They promise to lower and or eliminate taxes WHILE promising to provide good schools and health care and all kinds of social services. They promise the world and tell people we won't have to pay for it.

23. you see the genius of this though, right? Its a constant strategy, but I am in awe
if they push attacks like this, we have to spend time and effort getting a message out to counter the bullshit.

So their message to voters is "Democrats are like poison, here's why"

Our message is, "No, that's a lie, here's the proof".

But in all that debunking, we never get our own message out.

So voters have two choices:

Tough talking Republicans who tell scary stories about the other party

or

Democrats who spend all their time making excuses for themselves but never talking about a plan or attacking the other party.

No wonder they say we appear weak and don't have a plan. We can't get our message out.

24. And what do you think our message is?
If we had a chance to get our ducks in a row and proclaim a message on the budget what will it be?

Kinda of hard to get our message out people when the MSM is controlled by people who want to ridcule the Democrats as possible no matter what.

25. well, exactly my point. If there were a fair and unbiased media
they wouldn't simply report lies as fact. Of course, that may not always be bias. Could chalk some of it up to laziness. Either way, its working well for the RWers.

Consider most "Debate" format shows. One Dem, one Repig, one moderator.

Repig makes a claim which is a lie.

Normally, the moderators job, as a journalist, would be to refuse to let the lie stand, either expose the lie or ask for proof. Instead, though, the moderator takes the point and turns it over to the Dem, "What do you think about that?".
