Dean Responds To Vice President Cheney’s Scare Tactics
Washington, DC - Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean
issued the following response to Vice President Cheney’s political
smears against Democrats during a speech today in Alabama:

“The Vice President’s spin today is more of the same scare tactics
and bullish rhetoric that have become a hallmark of the Bush White House
when faced with a truth they don’t happen to like.

“The American people overwhelmingly support the Democratic plan for
change in Iraq, yet the President has stubbornly threatened to veto
legislation that contains his own benchmarks for success in Iraq,
ensures our troops have the training they need, and supports our
veterans.

“Democrats will not be lectured to, nor have our patriotism
questioned by an Administration that sent our troops off to war without
the proper life-saving equipment, a clear plan for success or the
quality care they deserve when they return home. While the President is
becoming increasingly isolated, Democrats continue to stand with our
brave men and women in uniform and the American people.”

13. So true! He'd make an EXCELLENT president.
And what a patriot and statesman! He's fighting the good fight for our country in the only way he has been able, due to the "powers that be" corruption in Washington.

I wish we could draft Dean for that job right now!!

Edited for clarity.

Don't get me wrong, brothers and sisters, I love Howard Dean and his comments are right on target. I'm just ready for him to give the following type of response:

"Vice President's Cheney's comments clearly demonstrate that he sides with the terrorists and hates our troops. His unpatriotic behavior is emboldening our enemies. When we get hit again, and DICK has previously stated that he knows we're going to get hit again, the American people will know who to thank. And PS: Fox News isn't actually news. Have a great day!"

29. Fuck Howard Dean!
Read his statement again.
It legitimizes what the Bushies have done.
There is nothing in that statement that acknowledges that the whole fiasco was bullshit from the beginning. He talks about

"...an Administration that sent our troops off to war without
the proper life-saving equipment, a clear plan for success or the
quality care they deserve when they return home"

as if any of that stuff matters to the thieves who set out from the start to steal oil and nothing else. Harry Reid keeps on saying the same kind of bullshit over and over again as well, and they can both go fuck themselves!

Seriously, anyone who acts as if anything about Iraq is even vaguely legitimate can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned. Howard, you DO need to have your "patriotism questioned" if you're not willing to come out and say it. And no, I don't give a fuck about the politics of it...

(and YOU PEOPLE keep patting these douchebags on the back! no wonder they call you dumbocrats!)

31. Here, how's this?
From another Vermonter:

"This war was not about September 11th. It was not about al Qaeda. It was not about making our nation safer. Instead, the damage this war has done to our national security, our national interests and our international standing has been incalculable. The injustices perpetrated at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo have tarnished our national reputation and leadership, and the way that Iraq has become a rallying cry for religious extremists has made our country and the American people less safe. I believe historians and future generations will look back on this war as among the most reckless, costly mistakes made by any President in our history."

That's from Senator Leahy, and though I like it better. Howard's response was perfect for its purpose.

Of course some people haven't a clue about strategy, reaching the American people or anything else.
