Mitt Romney Caught Lying About His "Hunting" Background
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070404/ap_on_el_pr/romney_hunting

BOSTON - To hear Mitt Romney talk on the campaign trail, you might think the Republican presidential candidate had a gun rack in the back of his pickup truck.

"I purchased a gun when I was a young man. I've been a hunter pretty much all my life," he said this week in Keene, N.H., to a man sporting a National Rifle Association cap.

Yet the former Massachusetts governor's hunting experience is limited to two trips at the bookends of his 60 years: as a 15-year-old, when he hunted rabbits with his cousins on a ranch in Idaho, and last year, when he shot quail on a fenced game preserve in Georgia.

Last year's trip was an outing with major donors to the Republican Governors Association, which Romney headed at the time.

1. Romney and Giuliani have both flip-flopped on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms for self-defense.
Will Clinton and Obama be next?

2. This is much bigger than flip flopping on an issue
This is about the guy's character. He's a fucking liar. A phony, fucking liar.

3. It won't matter--If Romney is the chosen one of the Republican Establishment
Looking at the amount of money he raised, it seems likely that flip flop Mittens is the GOP establishment candidate--the same crowd who gave us Junior.

He never really hunted--no matter--George Bush has never been seen on a horse and bought his ranch right before he ran for president--but they were able to convince Americans that he's just a cowboy at heart. The media won't look too close at his real background, giving he a chance at reinventing himself. As for the born again crowd, they believe that a lifelong sinner just has to accept Jesus in his heart and the slate is wiped clean--although I'm not sure how that would work for a Mormon.

Personally, I think that someone so lacking in convictions as Mitt Romney is a perfect candidate for the Republican party.

4. I think it will matter
"I've been a hunter pretty much all my life"

Then it turns out he's only been hunting twice. In his entire life.

This type of thing can define someone in the eyes of the electorate very quickly. I hope they DO nominate him, because we can destroy him. The man is a total phony.

7. I don't know, once again they were able to sell Bush as a rancher.
I hope you're right. Of all the GOP candidates, I think Romney's about the worst which probably means he can win.
