Indulge Yourself: What Would You Do If bu$h ACTUALLY Got Impeached AND Convicted?
Edited on Tue Apr-10-07 09:29 PM by Dinger
AND was convicted & had to be removed from office?

Me? Well, let's see here. It would be a stunning thing to hear. If I'd hear it at work, it would be difficult to contain my glee, but I'd have to (I'm a public school teacher). I would host an impromptu party at my place (ALL od DU is invited!), and then, the next day, I hope we could all begin the healing process, if that is possible, of this national nightmare we are all going through.

Edited to add "Conviction" to thread title.

1. I'd be dancing in the street
and singing "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead." And then I'd drink every alcoholic beverage on hand, and keep on dancing.

And very soon it will be the repugs that will lead the charge to get him out.

As for what I will do ..... I don't know.

Except maybe run down the street, butt naked, smearing myself with peanut butter and jelly and screaming at the top of my lungs.

In a very dignified manner, mind you. ;-)

13. Well, when Nixon resigned....
....
i was working a summer job iin a canning factory n anticipation of going back to school in the fall.
A friend and I took a bus out to the job at 7 each morning.
I awoke one morning, clearly late for work as the sun was well up....and my friend was there grinning....
"We're late for work!!" I shouted.
"We're not going to work today. Nixon's quitting."
Woooo-hooo!
He had picked up a 12-pack of cheap beer and we started in on it around 10 a.m.
the celebration picked up steam all day.
I had hated nixon passionately since I was 16, or younger even.
Very few of my circle of friends had TVs, so we went to a college dorm to watch the resignation.
Many of us were well-tuned up by this time.
We were shouting derisively at everything NIxon said.
At last the disgrace he so deserved was falling on him like tons of bricks...

"Shut up!" someone in the back of the room yelled. "We want to hear what he has to say!"
It was rude but the din increased. we knew the transcript would be in the papers in the morning. We could read his remarks when we were sober once again...
For now it was time to gloat.

For Bush, I'm thinking of something along those lines......

21. How about: What would you do if Bush got impeached AND convicted?
Impeachment without conviction leaves Bush in office. Removing him from office is the point, isn't it? Impeachment without conviction is like sex without orgasm and somebody would indeed be odd if they were satisfied with that.

33. I would celebrate.
I would be relieved that our system of government still exists. Anything short of impeaching bush or Cheney, I can no longer believe the system exists. I can no longer trust. Voting will never mean as much. I will have no comfort zone. For anyone who lives in a country where both the government and media lies, that person is not free.

34. If Cheney isn't removed from office first,
Then removing Bush just gives us President Cheney, which
we sorta have already. The thing is, a president without
a VP names a VP that has to be confirmed by the Senate.
So, even if Cheney goes first, Bush nominates Condi or
somebody, and if the Senate votes on it and confirms,
which they will do, especially if they remove Cheney plan
to impeach and try Bush next, then it's still a ways to
go before you get President Pelosi.

Should Bush get impeached and removed from office, and Cheney
gets to pick the next VP, you can bet he won't pick someone
decent like Gerry Ford. More likely, he'll pick Clarence Thomas
and then resign the presidency, and give us our first black
president, or pull some such stunt.

Either you impeach them both and convict them both, or don't bother.
Put the Democratic agenda in Congress through, and let Bush look
bad trying to veto it. We want the next Republican candidate to
have a LOT of baggage, not sympathy.

36. Can't go with that statement.
"Either you impeach them both and convict them both, or don't bother."
When someone in power violates the constitution or laws of the land, they should be impeached. Impeach one, two, or more, but to not do it should not be an option if our constitution is to continue to have any meaning.

35. Prince lays out what I would do pretty accurately:
We don't give a damn
We just want to jam
Party up (party up, got to party up)
That army bag
Such a double drag
Party up (party up, got to, got to, got to party up)
(party) got to party down, baby
Revolutionary rock and roll
Goin' uptown, baby,
How you gonna make me kill somebody
I don't even know?
They got the draft, uh, uh
I just laugh
Party up (party up, got to party up)
Fightin' war is such a fuckin' bore
Party up (party up, got to, got to, got to party up)

(party) uh, uh, got to party down, babe
Ooh, it's all about what's in your mind
Goin' uptown, baby,
I don't wanna die i just wanna have a bloody good time
Party up
Got to party up
Party up
Got to party up
Because of their half-baked mistakes
We get ice cream
No cake
All lies
No truth
Is it fair to kill the youth?
Party up
Party up
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Oooh ooh
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, whoo
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah
(party up - gotta party up)
Party up - got to party up baby
