Clinton-Edwards would make the perfect team

First published: Monday, April 16, 2007
>

I'm a registered Republican who, like many, votes bipartisan. My mind is made up because the party now in control of the Oval Office must be removed. Barack Obama lacks experience and appears often with Al Sharpton in photos.

We need someone who can hit the ground running and who has a brain. That candidate is Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is blessed to have a bright mate who will be of instant value. And I'm also tired of jokes about Bill's dalliance when Republicans Gingrich and Hyde were doing exactly the same thing.

Bill Clinton was not responsible for sending 3,200 of our men and women to their deaths in a war created by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Pearle. The perfect ticket would be Hillary Clinton for president and John Edwards for vice president, so a thoughtful, competent man can succeed her.

1. We all know the expression about opinions, and this from a registered
rethug. For starters, I don't see Edwards ever playing second fiddle to Clinton. And her 'bright mate' isn't running, she is.

2. Yes, you're right. The point is, a lot of them feel the same way and will be voting for

Democrats....and you are correct about her bright mate. He isn't running but I believe a lot of people think he would be a super-experienced advisor.

3. Isn't it sad, though
that many people are not relying on Hillary's own brilliance but on Bill's? I mean, it's like some people are voting for him and not for the actual candidate.

7. Senator Clinton is brilliant in her own right. The Former President is an
extra special perk............but, everyone knows that.

10. Whenever I hear a rethug back Clinton, my warning flags go up.
I think that's been the GOP's hope for several years (just listen to the talking heads) because they don't think she can win. I don't know if that's because she's a woman or because of her husband, but that fact makes me real leery.

16. There is no doubt, their strategy is working, Think WWRD
What would Rove do? Reverse psychology spun 6 ways forward and ten back.

Fear is their ammunition. Make people think they want Senator Clinton to win and scare the hell out of the Democrats.......subtle swiftboating.

No attacks on Senator Obama? What does that mean?
We know the other side attacks our candidates. There is no way around it. It's a fact of politics written in stone. Be very afraid of anyone they do not attack.

27. I believe that the corp fascist that run this Country want a republican first
as President, but if that isn't possible, I think they will support HRC next. How does she stand on dismantling the Patriot Act? The Iraq War? CAFTA and NAFTA? I think she is a strong candidate and can win in 2008, but do we want her too? We have slid a long way into tyranny and I am not confident she will reverse the trend. We have a class war raging in this Country with the rich haves vs. the rest of us. As Shruby said, "you are either for us of against us". Is Sen Clinton for us?

4. I am for any combination....
....that will win! I would rather see a Clinton/Richardson ticket. That would be the ticket with the most experience, IMO.

5. They certainly have identical views about the war - so, if you like them...
Of course, Edwards said he thinks he's better than Hillary (forget sponsoring IWR) because he said "oops"
but if you think the war was a good thing, except for the intelligence, strategy - this is your ticket!

11. Thank you!!
I am an Edwards supporter and would like to thank you for your ridiculous comments. They make the case against Edwards sound silly since it is obvious that he and Hillary are on opposite sides on the war now, comments like this only work to point that out. Thanks again!!

21. And They Both Sodomized The Middle Class Together!
No-predatory-lender-left-behind bankruptcy bills (Clinton in 2001, Edwards in 2001 and 2005), and most of job-obliterating 'free' trade billls - yes, they'd make a wonderful team, an excellent friend to the Predator Class in extracting every last cent from the average Joe and Jane.

Didn't have to read any further since that statement right there is a lie.

13. And let's definitely ignore "what" a large bloc of the voting public thinks and believes.
Edited on Mon Apr-16-07 07:41 AM by Alamom
This was written by a republican.

One who is narrowminded....most are.

He or she will be voting for a Democrat and this is what they are thinking.

But hey, we don't need their votes. We can win without them. We don't need fencesitters and converts. Right?

This was a post about a repuke converting and voting for Dems. This seems to be a trend now. It could become an avalanche. I think we willl see more crossover voting than ever before. In many cases, Dems coming back from the abyss.

Since the article favors Senator Clinton and not someone else, it's garbage. Fine.
If this writer had picked your candidate, would you be having such a problem or happy we have another voter?

BTW, these people will be at the polls whether you like it or not.

15. The writer is a liar.
He started off telling a big fat lie about Obama. But, if you want liars to support your candidate, go ahead.

I certainly wouldn't want any lying dems to vote for our candidate. :sarcasm:

20. I was too general since everyone tells lies. Let me narrow it down for you.
Republicans telling blatant lies about other Democratic candidates.

I don't have a problem with Republicans and Independents voting for Democratic candidates, but when he starts off telling a lie about another Democratic candidate, his opinion becomes worthless to me.

Clinton supporters should know that better than anyone since Republicans have been telling big fat lies about your candidate for years. But since this Republican is lying about someone else, it's okay I guess.

24. Why are you putting an OUT and OUT LIE
Edited on Mon Apr-16-07 08:32 AM by Ethelk2044
Obama often appears with Al Sharpton? Is the Clinton camp that desperate? It is sad when you have to Lie to try to sway voters over to Clinton Camp. Will not work. Matter of Fact Al is more Apt to endorse Clinton than Obama. He has been riding Obama's a- - because he will not do what Al want. However, he talks pleasantly about the Clinton's.

The part about having a brain. If she had a brain why did she vote for the war? She should have been strong enough to stand on her own and decide not to vote for the war (Or in other words go with the flow).

I'll settle for Gore/Feingold . . .

or Gore/Kucinich . . .

or Gore/Richardson . . .

or Gore/Moyers . . .

or Gore/Redford . . .

or Gore almost anyone (withing reason, of course) . . .
