8. I am looking forward to the charges.
At the very least this will bring awareness to Cheney's vile actions of the past few years. If most Dems had the courage that Kuch has this would actually bring forth a real Impeachment of this criminal VP!

14. I'll reserve comment. But I think we need to start thinking about timing.
Frankly I fear this is the political equivalent of a straight dash across no man's land during World War 1. We'll lose a lot of people, spend a lot of time, and never really breach the enemy lines. I'll wait to see the text of the articles, but unless he's got the ammo to flip 20 Republican votes in the Senate, I suspect we're looking at a waste of time. This move could end up stalling Congress on several other fronts where we really can flip votes. I'm not a fan of symbolic acts--particularly not costly symbolic acts.

19. That's always a good rationalization for non-action,
or for compliancy.

I'm a fan of taking action to clean up problems and move issues forward. While timing plays a part, it can't continue to be an excuse this far into the 2nd Bush/Cheney term. If more Congresspeople were willing to act, rather than speak vaguely about the "someday" or "right time" that never actually happens, more would get done. That would be good timing, in my book.

25. Then
You are in favor of real bi-partisanship? Because if you are really in favor of statesmanship then you will insist that the publicans study this issue very closely and allow the process to move forward, eh?

Godspeed, Mr. Kucinich!

17. Kucinich may have just won my vote in the primaries.
Earlier I criticized his tenure as mayor of Cleveland.

But if he's serious about this, and Gore stays out of the race....at this point, I'm undecided, but Kucinich is impressing me with his actions.

Vice President's office will look into impeachment report Michael Roston
Published: Wednesday April 18, 2007

Vice President Dick Cheney's office was looking into news that Articles of Impeachment will be filed by Rep. Dennis Kucinich for crimes which have not yet been identified by the Democratic Congressman. The news appeared on a blog last night produced by the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper.

"Cheney's deputy press secretary, Megan McGinn, said she couldn't comment on Kucinich's email because she hadn't seen it," wrote Sabrina Eaton at the Plain Dealer's blog "Openers."

She added, "Asked whether Cheney had done anything he could be impeached for, McGinn replied: 'The vice president has had nearly 40 years of government service and has done so in an honorable fashion.'"

RAW STORY also contacted McGinn yesterday, and was told that the Vice President's office would look into the question.
