23. Kucinich
with Richardson or Edwards as Vice President.
Kucinich is the only REAL DEMOCRAT in the race and just maybe the People are ready for a real Democrat. Hillary, Obama, etc. are very Republican-Lite as is Edwards and Richardson, but they are less tied to Corporate money, you say Obama is small contributions, well even his health-care spiel is not really one-payer. Read history about Theodore Roosevelt who got elected because the Fat-Cats were afraid of a progressive revolt, however, Teddy started the trend of American IMPERIALISM.
We need public financing of elections, re-enactment of the fairness act (we the Public own the airwaves) and PAPER BALLOTS and prosecution of caging, etc. tactics. Justice Reinquest should have never been appointed: in Arizona he intimidated Americans of Mexican descent at the polls and lied about it, etc.
I do recommend Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States. The Introduction is interesting: he fire bombed my high school French teacher when she was very young in the last fire-bombing of WWII in Royan, France.

3. I have to go with our best chance to win
That would be Hillary.
She may not have the best ideas, but she does have the best chance to win.

26. So, it's all about winning?
Hillary represents Corporate America. She is not a progressive. Who needs four more years of Bush? Of course, being a Democrat, she'll fuck over the middle class and the poor with a smile, rather than a sneer.

27. Instead of tearing down our Democratic candidates why don't
Why don't you tell us which one you like and what their good points are. I get enough of the negative slurs from right wing radio, I do not need to come to the Democratic Underground to hear more of the same.

30. I find John Edwards marginally palatable,
but his coziness with the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderbergers gives me the willies.

On the positive side, he gives a strong impression that he wants to do something about

1) Ending the Iraq occupation
2) Reducing poverty
3) Favoring workers over coupon clippers.

I think that his health care plan pretty much sucks as does Obama's. This is a solved problem. All we have to do is run the private insurance folks out of business, maybe try some of the top executives for crimes against humanity. And Bob's your uncle. We get to live as long and as well as Europeans.

Mrs. Clinton, in her NY Times interview a couple of months back, stated Bush's current policy on Iraq: the US will occupy until hell freezes over. This is not an option.

34. Well I'm voting for Hillary in the primary and straight Democratic in the General
Hillary has the most potential to generate money for the election.

She has been the focus of the storm for 17 years. She knows the onslaught from the right wing that is sure to hit the candidate and can handle it.

She has been through the peer review for her first health care initiative. She knows what to expect the second time around and can handle it.

She has been involved in the pressures of working in the Executive Branch and can handle it.

Did I mention she has the most money?

While you are wasting time finding fault with the Democratic candidates, I am finding ways to win.

Whose side are you on?

14. I'm going to go with where I think the vote will swing.
I'm going out on a limb here, but here goes... In all honestly, I don't think America is ready for a women as president, and it would be a disaster and a win for the GOP if Clinton got the primary. I also don't think that the American Southern States would allow a black man as president. As much as I want to say people are not prejudice (Maybe some day I hope.) they are deep down. Especially in the south. So I am going to have to go with Edwards. Even though Clinton and Obama are good candidates and I believe in allot of the things they do, it to important to win this election, and get a democrat in the oval office. To do this I think Edwards is the best choice.

I voted for him. He,and Edwards are the only 2 announced candiates who can win.Am I the only one who
sees polls that show them leading Guiliana,Mccain,Romney, and Thompson?Hillary trails Guiliana, barely
leads Mccain,Is In a dead head with Thompson, and only has a small lead over Romney.Plus Hillary could lose states that Gore, and Kerry won.Guiliana leads her In Pennsylvania. She also Is In danger of losing New Jersey and Connectiut.

22. My Inclination Will Be Edwards... Unless Gore Jumps In...
I must say that GORE really deserves his due.. HE DID WIN, no doubt in my mind. But things have changed dramatically, and Gore has been fighting the fight he always wanted to fight.

He has reddened himself and is extremely important in making his voice heard by the forethought of what may come. Has anyone thought about the fact that he is much more effective in his roll right now because is he becomes President, his fight will be with 535 people who can STOP the enormous gains he's made in the past 4 years at least.

I respect Gore and KNOW in my heart that what he had a passion for could have been "squelched" by an electorate who "needs" to be elected so the issues they believe in can continue to be represented. But for the most part these days, we AIN'T getting some good REPRESENTATION, and they feel a certain compulsion to opt for that "CYA" thing.

LIFE IN AMERICA -- 2007!

32. Since I can't go with the guy I really like (Gore) I'll go with the experienced guy (Richardson)
It will take a great deal of know how to get us out of this mess Bush has got us into. Although he's not the most telegenic candidate (He has clearly not perfected the art of lying on television) Richardson has the most executive experience and a generally forward looking viewpoint at least as far as energy and the environment are concerned.

I cannot wholeheartedly back a candidate who voted to get us into the war in Iraq--whatever their motivation.
