GORE TO "TENNESSEAN" NEWSPAPER: UNSURE OF POLITICAL APTITUDE
NYT/Reuters: Gore Unsure Of Political Aptitude: Report
Published: June 2, 2007

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Former Vice President Al Gore isn't sure he has the 'aptitude for politics' it would take to be elected president, but he has not ruled out running in 2008, he told the Tennessean newspaper.

Gore, who has repeatedly said he has no plans to run for president, said on Friday at a signing event for his new book "The Assault on Reason," that he wasn't sure he has what it takes to be elected president in today's political climate.

"I don't expect to get into this race," he said in a story on the paper's Web site. "I have given the reasons why. I strongly prefer to serve in other ways.

"I haven't definitely ruled out a return to politics for the rest of my life, but I don't expect to re-enter politics because I don't think I'm very good at some of the things that the modern political system rewards and requires," he added, saying his "aptitude for politics" did not match what is required in the political system today....

8. That's an interesting thought -- and I found this statement by Gore very interesting.
Maybe a first for a U.S. politician?

2. I agree. Gore is a great man and very perceptive
of what it takes to succeed in politics today.

It's all image and rock-star glamor.

4. True. He doesn't lie, cheat and steal very well. Americans like sociopathy in a president. :(

Gore is a great man but a lousy liar. He may be right about his ineptitude as a candidate but it is a sad reflection on this country that the most qualified, most visionary person around feels he is unelectable because he is not very good at playing the media games--games which have as little to do with actually governing as Jonathan Swifts Liliputian courtiers rope dancing games.

7. Ain't that the truth!?
I saw what the media did to Gore and then did to Wes Clark - two men who are the lousiest of liars - simply because they wouldn't play whatever stupid little game the press wanted them to play.

For a laugh, please read this: http://www.awesclarkdemocrat.com/2007/05/presley_marque_for_president.htm#more

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so true.

6. Yes....
he does not have the characteristics of a war criminal, murderous lying son of a bitch....facts do not rule the day anymore....hard to be factual in a non-factual society.
