Bush is really in big trouble when ...
he only leads Kerry by 8 points, 52-44, in Kansas, a state he won by a huge margin in 2000.

The poll I'm referring to is down the page a bit.

3. Yes, it's the one at the top - released today
http://www.surveyusa.com/currentelectionpolls.html

President, Head-to-Head, NV
2/13/2004

Bush(R)-----49%
Kerry(D)----48%
Undecided----4%

Data Collected: 2/11/04 - 2/12/04

Geography: State of Nevada

Sample Population: 505 Registered Voters

Margin of Error: 4.5%

Client: KVBC-TV Las Vegas

Since NV is a "battlestate" this tie, at this early point of the electoral calendar, is very significant - and it very much explains yesterday's visit by RNC chairman Ed Gillespie to Reno.

When Kerry really starts his campaign here, Bush can and will be defeated here. It's really important not to relax: it's a long march unto November, but it can be done.

6. Yes, but... only in the South (Las Vegas)
Las Vegas / Clark County (hehe - sorry) is a strong and numerically important pocket of Dem voters, but he should press hard in the North as well (esp. in the population centers of Washoe County -- Reno, Sparks -- and the Carson area) if he wants to secure this state.

See this page, showing the 2000 votes here in NV:

5. This race is pretty much over. And we can win in almost every state.
Those poll numbers are outrageous. I think we can win big if we work hard enough.

8. Kerry should do well in the North of Nevada
Clark had a very strong group in Reno and in fact we are still caucusing for Clark in our little precint in Douglas county in Lake
Tahoe. Hopefully Clark will be on the ticket and we would like him to make an enviromental speech up here in Tahoe. During Clark's House party's we had the opportunity to ask Clark a question about Yucca Mountain and when we told him we were from lake Tahoe he said that he would like to come ski here. Come on out General the door to many homes are open to you and your family! A staunch Repuke friend who said he would vote for Clark but for only Clark also said he would take him out for a boat ride if he came in the spring and this guy is a die in the wool Repuke. Can't believe such a good friend is a Repuke but such is life, he was open minded about Clark, says a little about what he thinks of the shrub
