"The Right Stuff" - Remember, in the book, the pilots would

show up hung over from the night before, putting on their best face, just so that they could not be removed from the one thing they loved more than fast cars, women, and booze.

Of course, they started testing for inebriation in, what, 1973 prior to allowing a pilot back into the cockpit?
