Contact Sen. Joseph Lieberman please!
If he cares so much about our men and women in uniform, he should not support drawing another nation's military into battle with them. Iran is not Iraq, and our men and women are not well served by this irresponsible call to bomb Iran.

If we don't let him know what we think, he will have no consequence for his action.

by email, but you have to fill out a form and phone calls are more effective anyway:

Please DU, let him know (politely) what you think.

Anybody taken a look at a map of the region lately? Care to speculate on the outcome to our troops of this action he reccomends?

1. barkin' up the wrong tree here.
I challenge anyone to write to this traitorous, lying, bought and paid for scumsucking asshole of humanity, in a polite fashion.

2. You get ignored if you are rude.
So if you intend to get through, politeness is of use to you.
That's what I think anyway. I'll write my own for my benefit, then pitch it and write one for the men and women who serve.

Edited on Sun Jun-10-07 01:44 PM by LaPera
No matter if the asshole Lieberman has a "D" or an "I" behind his name ...Lieberman is a republican through & through, a corporate whore who will do anything they ask of this Bush ass kissing pile of shit!

11. While I agree with your points, I had hoped DU could serve a more practical purpose
than just morbid entertainment, watching the trainwreck from a safe distance. I had hoped that we could serve as an organizing base, to outreach to our own communities.

From my perspective, Lieberman should rightly be flooded with phone calls for at least a week, telling him how strongly the people disagree with him.

Instead I guess we'll just sit here and bitch. Too bad.

I will hope that the rest of the country will feel it's important enough to dial him up, though no one imagines it will change his mind. It would let him know he does not have the nation's interests accurately assessed.

12. That depends on ...
It would let him know he does not have the nation's interests accurately assessed.

That depends on which nation you are referring to.

I've noticed that observation from you on several posts today. No fan of AIPAC here but I'm not interested in dragging that pile of hatred around.

15. I find it amusing ...
When someone feels the need to make a public spectacle out of their use of the ignore button. "No soup for me?"

boo hoo!

You continue to be confounded by Lieberman's lack of concern for the interests of the American people ... I'll continue pointing out the obvious.

24. Lieberman has neocon interests in mind, not Israel's interests
The Israelis are NOT on board with the neocon agenda. They warned us that if we invaded Iraq carelessly that it would make a mess of the middle east and they were right.

4. If I have learned ANYTHING about Joseph Lieberman...
it is that he doesn't give a "God Damn" about what we, the mere people, think. Time better spent contacting all the other Senators to oppose Lieberman.

5. Lieberman was on his way to losing his seat
and then the rabid right wingers dumped a ton of money on Liberman's campaign.

Lieberman has to ride the pony which brought him to the Bomb Iran parade. No amount of letters/calls from us will sway him from the money the rabid right throws at him.

Lieberman doesn't give a rat's ass about what we think; he was re-elected after all with support of Ds; and can now do and say and do whatever he damn well pleases. Calling his office is a waste of breath.

9. Any contact with Lieberman is a waste of time. He is impervious
to reason. It would be better to shun him, but unfortunately he (at least momentarily) has us over the barrel in the Senate. In 2008 we will win additional Senate seats, and Lieberman can be marginalized if the Democratic leadership has the will.

13. The really sad thing is.. We can seduce Iran much more cheaply
and without so much loss of life, and without further inflaming potential Islamic Fundamentalists recruitment. Their population will take care of their regime soon enough.

17. What we really need are Lieberman's GPS coordinates
Edited on Sun Jun-10-07 04:18 PM by IndianaGreen
I've heard that Jerry Falwell is feeling lonely in his corner of Hell and could use some company. :sarcasm:

Lieberman is not a Democrat to begin with. Lieberman doesn't care one iota about the grave peril that American troops in Iraq will find themselves in if the US and/or Israel were to attack Iran. Lieberman is waste of time.

Now, who talked Gore into putting Lieberman on the 2000 ticket?

19. Lieberman doesn't care about American troops
If he did, he wouldn't be a cheerleader for expanding the war into Iran. Considering the close religious and family ties between the Shias in Iran and Iraq, do you want a Shia blood feud against our troops? That's what will happen if US and/or Israel attack Iran!

20. Maybe you don't understand my point.
I agree with you. I am against attacking Iran, to the point that I will lay down and be arrested. It won't stop it, but it's my responsibility to throw my body on the gears, so to speak.

Just not into assassinating anyone, or supporting same.

22. Lieberman's term can be brought to an abrupt end if...
the good people in Connecticut find something that they can use to get him removed from office. Several people in Connecticut have said that there is no recall option. Well, I am not ready to shut the door on that. In addition, Lieberman has been involved in a lot of shady deals and these need to be brought to the fore again and again.

let alone those he doesn't represent.

I agree with your sentiments about Iran, though. I will contact my own senators to share my concerns.
