All I ever heard from the ‘Democrats’ in office was that they where the ‘Minority’ therefore they could not do anything to stop the passage of horrible right wing fascists bills.

Yet somehow the GOP seems to be able to stop almost every bill and even the ones that pass have to be rewritten to suit their needs.

I suggest Pelosi and Reid step down and let the GOP minority leaders officially take over.

Just like in the Presidential elections ... even if you win you still lose.

when the repubs were floating it and I like it even less if the dems decide to do it.

What they need to do is use a few more strong arm tactics. Don't capitulate, if they decide to filibuster, then you hold session after session after session on this one issue until something gives. You complain about the obstruction you face on a daily basis and you hold up all other business in congress until your demands are met.

Americans were behind them when they decided to pull us from Iraq. America will rally behind them if given a reason to.

But if Republicans and this administration wish to use their political capital to frustrate the agenda that a clear majority of Americans want, I think this a case of 'winning the battles, but losing the war'. I just hope that Americans are paying attention to the part of Congress that is stifling a progressive agenda.

the institutionalization problem of a filibuster and a president that is GOP that stops progressive legislation.

And the solution to that is to do what the GOP did - win the Presidency and put through major legal changes via inclusion in the budget since that can not be filibustered.
