Obama's folks on the phone, just got my first campaign call of the season

A very nice volunteer from the Obama campaign just called me. I'm not really leaning Obama's way, but keep up the good work guys. :thumbsup:

5. I was in Iowa during the last two general election cycles

I miss all the activity. Politics feels like a spectator sport in Illinois. In Iowa, we participated. But then, it was easier when they came to your town over and over again.

6. Yeah, you can meet every candidate personally

with a little effort on your part. It's pretty cool. For a while after college I worked for an environmental pac and we were one of the "required" stops for candidates. Everybody, and I mean everybody came through our office speech-ifying and glad-handing.

3. It's getting close to that time.

Since they changed the primary date in Florida, I have no idea when the calls from the candidates will start here.

7. I'm in CT and got a call Thrsaday night.

I said I'm for Edwards but if msm kills him I'm probably going his way. It's not just NH.

8. Yeah, I got an Edwards fundraising call last week.

Told 'em I'm saving my planned donation for Al Gore, should he choose to enter the race.

9. I've only received one call so far.. and it was......

.... an invitation to attend an upcoming "John Edwards House Party" that someone was planning.

The girl on the phone was super friendly, didn't ask for a donation or anything.. just asked if I wanted the address, time, etc..

I told her I wasn't supporting a candidate yet and she laughed and said "so what, just come party with us and watch John when he calls us!"

Turned out to be on a night when my little girl is playing soccer, so I can't go. (It stays light in Anchorage just about all night this time of the year, and her soccer games don't start until 8 pm )

Even though I'm not an Edwardsie (or an anybody-sie just yet )... it was nice to get a call not asking for money for once!
